Don't forget SenJo for the women.
Unlikely, that would mean no signed TJPW talent in the match. I'd expect a TJPW talent alongside a DDT one.
I bet this year we get the inverse, they even foreshadowed it with last year's match graphics glitching at the time.
I share a birthday with Bull Nakano (not a birth year) and I happen to love her, so...
Her best matches are the ones with either a big emotional charge like her match with Mizuki during her first pop reign, her singles against Haru, or her tags with Miyu, or good comedic chemistry like every match she ever had with Kamiyu.
Everything else is serviceable midcard stuff but that's it.
IMO there's a reason she has had fun GCW matches with danhausen, because neither is that good a wrestler but both know how to play to an audience and have stupid raucous fun.
I saw her at a tjpw event and she climbed on empty chairs and sang her entrance in the face of audience members, it was fun.
Man, Mio Momono and Chi Chi vs Ryo Mizunami and Mika Iwata as the SEMI main event of just a random show is why Sendai Girls remains the best promotion out there. Theres not a tournament. Theres not a PPV theyre building to. This isn't even a Christmas show. It's just the show theyre doing this week
Wait is she officially a member of Schadenfreude now? Sick.
I'm stunned that they managed to turn the (probably real) stall Wakana hit last year into such good character development for her, and dynamic fodder for their tag reign.
I have no idea what they put in koda's breakfast these days but goddamn, keep it up.
Best thing about this match is that despite Kamiyu's bullying, Shino and Himawari were still more mad at Wakana for daring to try and console them.
I love everyone involved in the match and the sum of its parts is even greater.
I loved that they took Kamiyu's pity/encouragement but soundly rejected Wakana's, almost showing resentment that she would try to talk to them like they're not peers.
Wonderfully dramatic, love it.
I mean it's completely unsurprising, Rossy seems desperate to maintain his WWE connections, and with Stardom, NJPW, TJPW, and DDT all working with AEW, and his open dislike of TK, he's pretty much forced to if he wants to have any foothold westwards.
+1 for Baka Gaijin, Chris Brookes is an underrated madman of a booker. Unagi Sayaka vs Mao Nakano is an incredible match.
Not strictly, but mostly. There are some recurring men, but the women outnumber them by a fair bit.
That's my biggest gripe with the belt collector gimmick: if her belts and wins matter, why do I know maybe 3 of them? 4 counting this latest one?
I don't know where Mone wrestles, I don't know her next title defense anywhere, and I don't know which titles she holds, and not cause I don't watch.
Deonna and Taya were a thing for a while, no?
How about a match with Kuroshio Tokyo Japan?
Mizuki just dropped the PoP title... 👀
They didn't make her the official "leader" of the roster for nothing.
Very good show, TJPW has IMO fully recovered from the streak of mid-to-high level talent losses it had a while ago.
The combination of Sakazaki leaving, and Noa, Kakuta, and Akai graduating thinned the top of the card a lot but the roster stepped up to fill the holes.
It's a joy to watch.
She told me there would be no streaming? Is this a promotional clip for the DVD release or something?
What show is this from? I've never seen poi in green gear.
I hear she's no longer allowed to retire, so we're going to get plenty of time to appreciate her 😂
I have no idea where they're going but I'm skeptical and would like to have at least some hint that they're not flying by the seat of their pants, before I go gaga about her skewing the belts-by-volume ratio even more. 3/3
I like this gimmick but there needs to be a long term plan and I don't see one if it exists.
As it stands all they did is build her up then feed her to Toni while holding several promotions' top titles.
Toni is good and the match was great but no title earned prestige out of this whole run. 2/3
At this point? None, it's already too many.
None of them are getting any exposure by virtue of being on her and there's not been a hint of an offramp for this storyline.
At this rate what's likely to happen is that she'll get randomly injured and will have to drop them all with no payoff. 1/3
Yeah it's a shame, tjpw and chocopro both put on some really solid stuff with people that wouldn't get to be curtain jerkers in a televised promo, it's just the economics of audience retention at the end of the day.
Oh I know, I was following AEW regularly at the time of both their debuts, and still occasionally tune in.
To be clear: I don't dislike AEW's product, but it's not condusive to developing talent from scratch.
Rare exceptions aside most of their people from the end of Dark are rarely completely green, because they're courting a home audience, which is very different from courting a venue audience.
