Black History Month: The Photographers Who Documented a Movement
In honor of Black History Month, it's time to recall the photographers who have been instrumental in documenting and influencing the African American narratives. The photographic community and beyond have been forever changed by the groundbreaking efforts of Gordon Parks, James Van Der Zee, Kwame Brathwaite, Stanley Wolfson, Carl Van Vechten, and many others who have captured critical times and portraying the African American experience, challenging societal norms, and fostering a greater understanding of Black identity and history.
For Black communities, photography has been a vital tool for telling truths that challenge erasure, misrepresentation, and silence. Check out these photographers who've been instrumental in documenting and influencing the African American narratives.

The Compact seeks to remake universities in the image of the MAGA movement: obedient, culturally monolithic, inward-looking, patriarchal, and illiberal. By conditioning federal funding on compliance, it invites schools to participate in their own undoing.

When political violence makes headlines, it’s tempting to respond in the moment by posting, commenting, and sharing. But what we say and how we say it matters deeply because political violence isn’t just a policy issue, it's a narrative issue.
