The figures are GDP-PC (GDP per capita), adjusted for PPP (purchasing power parity), and are hence directly comparable.

The US spends a higher percentage of GDP on healthcare than any other comparable nation, including those that provide universal healthcare.

It's a structural issue with how healthcare works in the US that means it is extremely expensive yet doesn't provide adequate coverage.
