I think today I set the new record for the longest time span between two consecutive papers at #KDD: 31 years between KDD-0 (an AAAI workshop in Seattle) and KDD-31 (thousands participants in Toronto). Both papers about rule learning, attendance was higher in 1994 (whatever that means...) 🤔
Just checked in for #KDD-25 in Toronto. They handed me my badge reminding me that I better not lose it because it costs 200$ to print one. At least I now know where 1/5th of my registration fee went to...

Just declined, I think for the first time ever, a reviewing invitation to a major ML conference. IMHO the expected amount of interaction in OpenReview (replying as reviewer to author rebuttals and vice versa) is getting way out of hand, reviewing becomes negotiation. Feels surprisingly relaxing. 😎
