Your occasional reminder that eels are the most smuggled animal on earth; there's a $4-$5 billion per year black market trade in eels.
INTERPOL has called the trafficking of European elvers to Asia "Europe's ivory trade."

Love the silhouette!
Closeup of a gray Rock Pigeon with white by its short bill, orange shining eyes, green and pink-purple iridescent feathers on its neck, and pale shoulders
Imagine looking at a bird this gorgeous and calling it a βrat with wingsβ
Couldnβt be me, I instead bring my camera to shopping centers for close-ups

Did you know? ... Looking like a beautiful FabergΓ© egg, the volume of the Scotch Argus egg relative to its wingspan is 3.1% and is the largest ratio of all of the British and Irish butterflies (the smallest ratio belongs to the Meadow Brown, which is just 0.31%).
It does look that way! A beautiful crisp day for a walk here though!
Over here, a few big flakes fell last night and covered the path in snowy stars but that was all. Not sad about it though, all my winter kit (boots inc) have been moved down to Yorkshire already so I only have trainers. An oversight, in hindsight!
The rhinos we have and the ones we lost.
In the late Pleistocene, about two thirds of the worlds terrestrial megafauna went extinct. Rhinos fared better than average, but still, all the temperate and cold climate species are gone. Those that remain are endangered and in dire need of protection.
Having the gwenders is the bane of my life π
My absolute love of winter is a odds with my (currently) chilblained toes.

I need to sell my demountable camper. Is Ebay really the best place to do that? Been on a few caravan forums and they seemed to point to Ebay. I've only really sold shoes and clothes on there before!
Needed this today! Tbh, been looking forward to it for weeks β¨
Absolutely love the blue butterfly π¦. The notifications are so cute when they pop up!
Love this. βQueueβ is from the French word with the same spelling (but pronounced as βkuhβ) meaning an animalβs long tail.
In the 18th and 19th centuries it also referred to a pigtail and was sometimes spelled as βcueβ, which gave us the name of the long thin rod used in snooker.
A pair of Amethyst Deceivers fungi surrounded by fallen leaves and pine needles.
In autumn, there's a particular spot I go in Tentsmuir forest looking for Amethyst Deceivers. They peep through the fallen leaves and pine needles. I found these ones a couple of weeks ago.
Thank you! I have been spending much of the past two summers down there. Definitely will be a change, not been that far inland from the sea since I was in my early 20s!
A photo of a hand stitched tapestry celebrating Dundee's gaming industry. With stitched images of game characters and text.
I visited the V&A Dundee yesterday to see the Kimono exhibition (which was great!) but it was the Dundee Tapestry that really fascinated me. 35 panels, hand-stitched by local volunteers. Absolutely loved this one, celebrating Dundee's gaming heritage, with the ZX Spectrum computer in the centreπ₯οΈ
Moving to Yorkshire, near Leeds. After 13 years of van-dwelling, I'm going to live in a house again. Moving for love but quite heartbroken to be leaving this little corner of Fife!
View over the firth of Tay towards the sea on a calm evening.
If I'm on foot, I'll look out for the supports! I tried to take a pic through the bus window.
I did not know about the raised platforms on the bridge, that would have been cool! It was such a still evening, went over the bridge around 4pm on the bus and the light was superb, with the moon rising behind the rigs!
Woah, that's hard core trying to prove they exist! They look great! You're friends are going to need to visit Scotland!
Yes! Can't wait for you to be home!
I'm holding a macaroni pie on a paper bag. The view is a sunny marina.
After 22 years of living in Scotland, I am moving south again to start a new chapter of my life. It's exciting but I never thought I would leave tbh! Going to miss these sunny sea views, and the macaroni pies!
