A white woman’s hand holding a four leaf clover, which looks like a three leaf clover with a stubby fourth leaf poking up from the primary three. A dog is in the background, about to munch on it.

Das Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz hat die #noAfD als gesichert rechtsextrem eingestuft. Der Inlandsgeheimdienst sieht keinen bloßen Verdacht mehr. Wer Demokratie schützen will, muss handeln. Keine Bühne, kein Mandat, kein Zweifel. Diese Partei gehört verboten. Jetzt.

Having a great day with a friend in Hannover.
A sunny sky, fluffy clouds, a lake surrounded by trees, and a lone sailboat in the water. Serene.
I freaking love Germany on days like this.
I know I keep going on about the house getting hit by lightning, but to us, it was kind of a big deal. We lost two ceiling lights, a set of fairy lights (they melted), and some Ethernet, but we were lucky. If we hadn’t had the electricity redone in 2023, we might have had a house fire!
I caught the dog, Jim caught the cat and then I caught the tiny mouse and took it outside. It seemed upset to be so rudely discarded in the rain, but trust me, mouse, flee the House of Chaos while you still can!
After the lightning, my husband burned stuff on the stove and was airing out the place. Then the cat was acting weird—a mouse had walked inside. We had a nursery rhyme going on—me chasing the dog, dog chasing the cat, cat chasing a mouse. All while E was playing a waltz on violin in the basement.
Our house got struck by lightning tonight, and it was LOUD. Thankfully, only a tiny piece of the roof fell off (we’ve got 70 year old clay tiles, and they’re strong), and the whole street has electrical problems, but no fires!
Well, the dog figured out how to jump the fence and my neighbors now have photos of me chasing him all over their yard with a dandelion because I was out of treats so there goes my chance at a sensible reputation.
Larry David just ended Bill Maher.
This is death by satire.

Other news: the magic of life is still magicking
Update: they said she doesn’t need to stay there, thankfully, and is now on the waiting list for the “usual” clinic.
And you have a special place in our home. I know it’s funny/weird for you bc it’s your older books, but I hear your words every night. Literally right now, in fact, as I help Elizabeth to bed. (While she argues with Jim about the best types of knots for hanging a chair.)
Dank je wel, Marieke. She was recently in Niederlande and said thats her goal, now—move to Amsterdam.
Same. It’s almost medieval, in the best way.
Thank you. Not sure I’m doing the right things, but we try. My husband and I are like zombies, these days.
I just am so lost, and so is she. A lot stems from being the younger sibling of a very (justifiably) needy person. And being trans. And 16.
Shveta! I’m so thankful you’re here.
Sorry I’m mostly a lurker. Life at home isn’t fun to share, and I don’t want to add to the world’s weight.
Anyway, tomorrow I’m taking my 2nd born to the suicide watch clinic. The one my first-born went to 4 years ago.
Why is this happening? Why both kids? What did I do wrong?
The turnout in small towns across the country has been incredible drawing crowds of thousands. We’re already seeing over one million in attendance nationwide, and events are still underway. Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Ohio all had especially surprising showings.
If you're going to watch Murderbot on Apple TV, consider adding it to your watchlist. It's kind of like pre-ordering a book, it tells the streaming service that you're there for our show.

1/4. On the White House’s theory, if they abduct you, get you on a helicopter, get to international waters, shoot you in the head, and drop your corpse into the ocean, that is legal, because it is the conduct of foreign affairs.
After I took that photo, Plankton wandered over to an area he isn’t allowed in, where the cats go, and came back with a dead mouse, crawling with maggots.
Life is so full of ups and downs and horrors.
A dog, looking to the left of frame, stand on a field of clover before a green bucket of cold, now-dirty water filled with balls of various sizes and one gigantic, yellow plastic egg.
Now that’s it’s not freezing outside, we’ve got a game: put all the balls in, and take then out.
Wilmer only found out his son had been detained after receiving a phone call on March 15 from his nephew, Luis, who lives with them. That morning was their last time together; they had gone around the corner to do their laundry. Later that day, Wilmer said that his son met with a friend to get help with some errands at the American Red Cross. He learned this from Luis, who looked at the situation from inside the apartment: when his son was on his way back, just steps from his home when ICE agents stopped him. “The officers grabbed him and two other boys right at the entrance to our building. One said, ‘No, he’s not the one,’ like they were looking for someone else. But the other said, ‘Take him anyway.'” That moment marked the beginning of Wilmer’s search for answers — answers he’s still waiting for.
One of hundreds of people abducted by ICE and sold to slavery in El Salvador was a 19 year old with no criminal record in the US or Venezuela and no tattoos of any kind.
An ICE kidnapper who grabbed him outside his house said, "He's not the one."
The other said, "Take him anyway."
So they did.
This is terrifying in America. ICE agents are showing up masked—these abductions must stop. If you’re going to detain someone, show your face, present a warrant, and proper ID. Disappearing people from their families without evidence or accountability isn’t law enforcement—it’s state-sponsored fear.
It’s the fact they know you care—it makes them grow happier. And you’re happier. Everyone is happier even the beetles.
Really not here for dire wolves. Not bc I hate wolves, but because I can’t stand the Alpha Male fetishization (that’s a word) of anything, and also we have dogs; we don’t need to play with their DNA anymore than we already did.
