New pop up park in Seddon. Great work Maribynong Council!
Closed end of road and transformed the space into a neat park. Love this sort of urbanism.

Oh and plenty of helpers around, particularly noticed them at watergardens with extra signage, announcements and staff to redirect
As a middle foots to Sunbury user (so opposite peak) Iβve enjoyed the extra morning and evening services and the new trains. I also fortunately missed Tuesdays disaster - colleague reported taking 3 hours to get home to collingwood.
The only thing I like about the west gate tunnel opening is the no truck ban on inner west streets - unless of course Williamstown Road which will see an actual increase in truck numbers. Letβs see how this goes.
New trains! Wide and bright. And empty!
New train platform at Parkville station
State library platform. Spacious bright and light
Wow! Escalators to platform at new town hall station
Seriously game changing for Melbourne - opening of new metro tunnel today. Managed to catch the last train of the day - genuinely impressive. #metrotunnel #melbourne π€©π€©π€©
Priorities.
We asked for a covered pedestrian path like they gave the cars.

Good start here - www.planning.vic.gov.au/planforvicto...
Most aggressive planning policy changes weβve probably ever seen - all built around building more homes. Itβs spread across several policy platforms but this is a good place to start.
Victorias state government is rolling through big planning reforms this year to really shift the policy dial to a 70/30 infill/greenfield new development. Remains to be seen how the market will deliver.

Visiting Oxford and am surprised and totally impressed with the shared spaces - making it easy for bikes and walkers to get around
Visiting Oxford for a few days and saw you all yesterday πβ€οΈ. Was a great day out as a pedestrian too - very impressed with the number of bikes out and about and the shared spaces making Oxford a wonderful calm, easy place to walk around.

now includes pedestrian footpath
β where are the trees??

Not system related but I do like your one online portal lodgement system that we DO NOT have in Victoria!
Iβm excited for this - and yes I live in a βtram and transport zoneβ in the inner west. Lots to review and comment on. Needs to be coupled with investment in public spaces and safe movement infrastructure π€
Also weird given this is exactly what Victorias planning schemes push too - planners are not the issue here! We know how this works and why itβs needed.
Fab! Thanks for sharing/creating!
Cracking magnolia this year. On a cracking winter August day in melbs, spring is well and truly here.
Vivid pink skies of sunrise over house tops
Good morning Melbourne π
Had my say, thanks for the tips
And no trains west of north Melbourne. Again. Unreal.
Genuinely good people. Help them out!
#melbournes laneways in the wet this morning. Great pedestrian spaces connecting the city.
Just me and the sunset on the ride home tonight βοΈ #melbourne #ptv
First time Iβve ever contacted my local member to express my immense disappointment with this decision. Bet I get no response.
Exciting next steps for planning for more housing in Melbournes activity centre - public transport based centre along new metro train line. Ambitious housing targets but youβve gotta have a plan!

Planners - pay attention. Weβre reasonably good with riverine flooding when mapped, arguably not quite as good with forest fire.
Happy to repost this great vid of my hometown
As a melburnian urban planner loves this video! Thanks so much for taking the time to visit and put it together!
