A Sense of Chesterfield is being funded through the Animate Chesterfield programme, with a further £80,000 awarded to this project by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, made possible thanks to National Lottery players.
The project is complemented by community engagement which has been taking place in schools and groups around the borough and has helped to shape the themes and stories within the trail.
Also involved in the project will be Sculpture Works, based in Wirksworth, who are working to develop public artworks that will form key points along the trail. Other collaborators include @spark_stem @rhubarbdesignhouse
@defeye_creative and Access and Inclusion UK
I’ll be working alongside 4 other fantastic commissioned poets including
Emma Birdie, Kate Burns, Matthew Hedley Stoppard and Tyler Turner

Overjoyed to have been commissioned by Beam Arts UK and Chesterfield Borough Council to write a poem for A Sense of Chesterfield, a new heritage arts trail that will guide you around the town centre and help uncover hidden history.
