I’m teaching my granddaughters (5 & 8) paper piecing. I cut, they sew. When we finished the sections, they got time on their tablets while I had a stiff gin and bitter lemon. We finished them in one day, (not recommended) and only broke one sewing machine! #uplift #fabricart, #quilting

My sister has a dogwood that after three year years still hasn’t bloomed. They can take between five and seven years to get established.
My magnolia, was full of blossoms when I brought it home, but the next year, nada. Now it’s glorious!Turns out it’s pretty common for flowering trees to take time to recover from transplanting before blooming again. Just make sure you tell them that you love them just as they are and give them time.

I remember all too well. Yet despite all their failings, they are still the least bad choice. While not as right as Alberta’s NDP, the BC party definitely leans that way.

Yet, unless you live in a major center, places exist in Canada where it’s hard get access. Where I live in the southern interior of BC, the nearest provider is a 2 hour drive away. That clinic is only open on Tuesdays. In other parts of the country it is much worse. Thank goodness for Mifegymiso.

This girls dress has a pink bodice with a blue panel. The skirt has a panel of blue between two strips of pink. The rest of the skirt is a dark blue with multi coloured print. Their are seven medallions fussy cut from the dark blue fabric, hand stitched on the centre of the blue panel.
back of girls dress. Pink bodice had 3 polka dotted buttons. Skirt is dark blue with multicoloured pattern.
Dress designed by four year old. It has a gathered skirt with yellow and purple panels. Bodice is green with purple panel and red medallions. It looks like it's drop waisted, but my granddaughter told me that it's supposed to be regular a regular waist.
Before Xmas, my granddaughter designed a dress for me to make for her. Last visit, she picked out the fabric I should use. It's finished just in time for her 5th birthday next week.

I will quilt baby quilts on my machine, but that’s all!
I now do all mine toe up so I don’t have to worry about running out of yarn. I think I have forgotten how to make them top down.
This is what’s happening in my riding too. It used to be a close race between the conservatives and the NDP, but now that there is a lot of liberal support, the progressive vote is split.
This doesn’t comfort me. I thought Harper was bad. When PP goes, I fear who they will bring in next.

I don’t have any machines just for quilting. I do quilt as you go or send stuff off to someone. I do have a collection of sewing machines though! Most recently I purchased a 1947 featherweight. I love it for piecing and taking places.
Do you have a sit down machine or a long arm?
