Ice patchers and Zamboni smooth the ice at the Milano Olympics.
They release live skaters onto the ice so the Zamboni can feel like they're actually hunting. This is a key method of enrichment for the domestic Zamboni. As these were bred in captivity, they would be unable to actually hunt for themselves in the wild.
