Running Around in a Prepubescent Parody of Lust In first grade, the idea of kissing anyone made me feel icky. But I played along with my peers and set my sights on a boy. The rest…is history.

Narratively published the sordid details of my first kiss.

I was exhausted all day yesterday & couldn't get much done. This morning, I woke up with an IBS flareup. Guess the tiredness was my warning shot. I have a hard time recognizing that exhaustion is not laziness but a sign something is wrong. Dad called me lazy when I was young. I wasn't. I was unwell.

The lecture, which was about feminist takes on body horror, was basically how body horror is bad because female bodies are sacred. And that's what sent me looking up the speaker only to find TERFy badness.

It's all bikini bod stuff aimed my way. That being said, while at a dermatologist recently, o saw a lot of ads for vaginal rejuvenation that looked questionable.

Very disappointed with Morbid Anatomy. I attended one of their lectures a few weeks ago & got a bad vibe from the lecturer. Ends up she's a TERF. When I messaged Morbid Anatomy about it, they did nothing. I canceled my membership. I won't give money to someone platforming those who deem me subhuman.

My work has been flagged a plagiarism before. In the early 90s, a prof flunked me out of his psychology class because he didn't think I could possibly write that well and assumed I was copying from a journal somewhere.

I also don't send my work to publishers that use AI-checkers. I do not want my work fed to an LLM, and those checkers are notorious for flagging the work of neurodivergent writers and folks for whom English is not their first language.

I'm an artist and writer. I've had work published in a magazine that uses AI-generated illustrations. I didn't know they did when I sent my work in to them, and I won't be sending them any more. It bothers me that they can't be arsed to support artists.

Just found a weird flash fiction I wrote way back in 1989. I remember writing this one based on a dream I'd had. It was a hit on a listserve called Weird-L. IIRC, it inspired spinoff stories. I wish I had them.

Yes, this policy would be punitive for folks like that who happen to be new authors.

In a litmag's submission guidelines, they said that if they look for an author online and can't find them, they won't publish their work.

I get that they're trying to filter out AI shit, but I can't help but think of folks who've managed to lay low online. Those folks must be rare indeed.

What privacy? Meta's smart glasses are filming unwitting naked people Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses are a privacy nightmare, with footage of naked people, sensitive information, and violent acts captured and seen by Meta's AI and an army of employees.

An elderly German shepherd hangs out at my gym. He walks slowly, like he's arthritic. He is not a demonstrative dog & though I've seen him off & on for about 3 years, he has never reacted to me calling him a good boy. He is uninterested in scritches.

Today he wandered over & gave me a boop. Yay!

Phengaris There's something very wrong in Thurstrop Wood.Mark Warner never noticed it before. He's there to get away from his life, his ailing mother. Out of his head. Not to think about anything.Birds sing in ...

Why, thank you. I am Anna and I am a woman and I am in horror. I am slithering around in its sleek intestines as we speak.
This is my novella Phengaris, drug-fuelled, grief-stricken and shamelessly cosmic.

I'm still looking for a house or apartment to rent in Corner Brook, Newfoundland this spring/summer. Needs to allow my pet chinchillas and have at least two bedrooms. Any leads would be appreciated.
