Last month I went to a scientific meeting with attendees from 45 countries--some who undoubtedly took great risks to travel to the U.S. while ICE is running loose.

Now we're working hard at making enemies both within and outside our own country. It's disastrous for science, business, and education.

I understand fighting a war when your country has been attacked.

I understand gathering allies to fight a regime that endangers its neighbors.

Iran didn't attack us. Israel didn't solicit the assistance of multiple countries to address regional danger posed by Iran.

So which side are we on?

THANK YOU. I'm tired of the Kamala-bashing. She galvanized her party when she rose to the top of the ticket. She may or may not be the best candidate for 2028, but our enemy is the GOP-centered disinformation machine, not a previous candidate.

A lot of horrifying and disgusting stuff will eventually come out of the Epstein files; predictable, because that entire operation was horrifying and disgusting.

I've seen satanic panic over this stuff. Hold off on rumors, and don't attribute to demons what human creeps can do on their own.

It was especially frustrating because she was in so much pain that she was effectively housebound. There are medical professionals in the family and they were all seriously worried that she'd never regain her mobility. For someone otherwise healthy but 90+, that's life-threatening.

Property taxes are local issues, not federal issues. Trump is just blowing smoke out of his cloaca as usual.

It took 5 months of hoop jumping for my MIL to get a minor revision of a knee replacement. She’s older so the diligence was reasonable—but every one of her appointments added a month’s delay.

She’s fine now, fortunately.

It's obvious but still striking to consider that we have a United States government driven solely by one man's emotional dysregulation and dysfunction.

DHS itself was a political-theater response to fear. We already had law enforcement and military capabilities to handle threats from within and without. DHS was redundant from the start.

If a staffer to any other POTUS had done that, that staffer would have been fired on the spot.

I obviously don't believe for a moment that it was a "staffer," but if it was, it was someone who thought it would please the boss.

And if a WH staffer DID have access to the account and was responsible for posting racist content--and wasn't immediately fired--that's a mark against Trump for hiring and retaining racist idiots.

Of course, we all know that being a racist idiot is a qualification for working in the Trump WH.

Too many people don't understand the math. No vaccine is 100% effective, and the risk of being exposed to a disease depends heavily on how many people are spreading it. That obviously means that vaccinated people can occasionally get infected. It also means that herd immunity is a real thing.
