Joanne Bland passed away today. She was just was 11 when she marched in Selma on March 7, 1965, known today as "Bloody Sunday." Joanne led my students on a number of tours of Selma. I usually just sat back and watched her go. She was a remarkable woman, who will be dearly missed. #BlackHistoryMonth

I watched it yesterday. It was both uplifting AND heartbreaking to remember a time when I had so much more hope.
The fact that both are quite experienced—8 years and 12 years with CBP—is yet more evidence that CBP should be abolished and all of its agents fired. There's no way to "reform" or "retrain" that, it's just a violent gang with badges.

A Minnesota woman observing ICE agents in her car was cornered on one-way streets. An agent approached, called her by name—citing facial recognition. Days later, her Global Entry and TSA privileges were revoked, with no explanation.
Journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort, who accompanied protesters inside a St. Paul church and documented the action, have been arrested.
3800 kids taken into ICE custody in 2025 (as of mid-December; must be higher now), according to the Marshall Project. 1300 of them held longer than 20 days.

Federal agents have been teargassing parks and residential neighborhoods for weeks but didn't show up for a fight downtown today and look what didn't happen.
Wishing absolute worst wishes to our occupying forces. GTFO of Minnesota.
