Yes:

You saw [grapes/a technology] that you thought you could [eat/score social media points from], but were unable to because [they were out of reach/I showed you a valid use case], so rather than accept that reality you decided that instead the "grapes" were [sour/overengineered].

My case is great tho. I love this case and get similar cases every time I replace my phone. In fact the flap itself is there so it's hard to damage the port, which would brick the phone without wireless charging.

I think this reaction is just sour grapes, frankly.

My case has a flap over the charging port, so yes.

In order to plug it I gotta find the cable AND wrestle with that flap. Easily 30 seconds every night, and it's also the sort of thing I could easily forget if I was sleepy.

I mean that too, but I honestly think it's for people like me who charge their phone overnight anyway. It doesn't matter at all to me that it's slower. I'm not going to be awake until it's fully charged anyway.

06.03.2026 16:16 ๐Ÿ‘ 0 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

It also makes it much harder to forget to charge the phone because I'm sleepy. Lot easier to remember "put phone here" then "find cable, wrestle with slot, put in slot" at 3am.

I love wireless charging because I was charging my phone overnight anyway. It's so much less of a motion to just lay it on the charger, especially since my phone's case covers the charging port so I have to hold the flap open to charge it wired.

The website design is the best part!

Iโ€™ll add, lawmakers engaged in a moral panic about kids and social media want to destroy all of this and destroy open source software generally all so they can enact a mass AI surveillance state and censorship systems. And big ppl on the left continue not to mount a challenge to this!

I think this is dumb reasoning to be clear, but I also think that it's not nearly as disqualifying as a lot of people on here seem to think.

In particular I don't think it means that he is a secret Nazi. He clearly is not. We have years of his anonymous reddit posts to guarantee that.

My honest belief here is that:

1. He got the tattoo when he was a Marine cuz it looked like the sort of tattoo Marines think are cool.
2. He figured out pretty quickly what it was but
3. Justified it to himself as "well, when I have it it's not a Nazi tattoo because I'm not a Nazi".

Approximately half of Chotiner's interviews are totally normal! You just never hear about them because they're kinda ordinary and boring.

child marriage is legal in 34 states but you better not meet your child wife online that would be dangerous

in america it is very important that we make it illegal for operating systems to work without scanning your retinas or children will literally die of internet exposure but child labor reporting laws are too restrictive when you think about it

...no, your underlying thesis would be something like "The LLM makes mistakes that prevent it from being useful for legal research". What you're referring to here is a claim in support of that thesis. (Or something similar, I don't know what your actual thesis is because you haven't said it.)

Notably even Nate Soares, the guy who literally wrote the AI doom book with Yud, is on the right side here: x.com/So8res/statu...

Or in other words, while the Luddites are slightly more complicated than usually imagined they're still a bad example! Just because they had a sympathetic motivation doesn't mean their theory of change worked or could have worked!

I mean, it was clearly about the technology in the sense that they tried to destroy the technology.

They also failed to either get rid of the technology or protect their social position from it, chiefly because they were so focused on the technology per se.

As usual, AOC has the only good statement on stuff Trump does:

28.02.2026 17:21 ๐Ÿ‘ 0 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Obama really did campaign on progressive ideals, and Hillary and Kamala really did pander to centrists.

Biden ran as a centrist but also won fairly narrowly at a time when Trump was at his nadir of popularity.

Clinton's the only real example here of a genuinely popular centrist president.

This view would at least be basically coherent if he was not also rabidly against "the Groups".

However in context this is just a dodge, where he says that politicians shouldn't change public opinion because that's the job of interest groups, but also that interest groups should go fuck themselves.

The thing is, about half of his interviews are totally normal. So you can't know for sure.

Ever since then a tiny part of me has kinda respected him. And now even more. I think I respect him more than Chuck Schumer now.

Tweet from the US Holocaust Memorial Museum: "Anne Frank was targeted and murdered solely because she was Jewish. Leaders making false equivalencies to her experience for political purposes is never acceptable. Despite tensions in Minneapolis, exploiting the Holocaust is deeply offensive, especially as antisemitism surges."

The US Holocaust Museum being more outraged by Tim Walz saying that, like Anne Frank, children today are in hiding from armed agents of the state, than they are about the fact that children are in hiding from armed agents of the state, is why Holocaust remembrance culture is in crisis.

can't be the first person to say this but boy it's really on the nose that the gestapo are out there in the street arresting kneeling priests and executing people named Pretty and Good

Bill Kristol sees this shit clearly. I don't know how so many elected Democrats don't.

Saying there must be trials isn't just an emotive aspiration.

Congress can:
- Create a new court (complying w/ 6A jury vicinage)
- Give it jurisdiction over defined category of crimes
- Also create dedicated prosecutors for the same
- Strip SCOTUS of appellate jurisdiction

It can be done.

TikTok Strikes Deal for New U.S. Entity, Ending Long Legal Saga

This is the biggest self own the Democrats have ever done. They handed a group of eight wing billionaires control of the largest social media company.

Just absolutely stunning incompetence.

Only one! But one's a lot in context.
