New paper out in The Holocene (OA)!
Fjords of South Georgia are efficient carbon sinks. Our sediment records show that rapid sediment accumulation—linked to glacier activity—controls organic carbon burial. The sediments also preserve a signal of past whaling.

Today is 20th anniversary of the tragic 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami. I have studied its impacts in Thailand shortly after that. Recently, I revisited the same sites after 20 years with collaborators from DMR within my latest @NCN_PL grant, TSUNASTORM. Can you still recognize tsunami deposits?
