I appreciate the opportunity to compare my view of material-mental monism with David Bentley Hart's views. Thanks especially to Thomas Burnett of the John Templeton Foundation. Since this appeared, DBH and I have had private conversations about our differences. www.templeton.org/news/what-if...
Social media highlighted this photo from two years ago, and it reminded me of good times with Tripp!
A few years ago, I made photos of three mountain lions in the Owyhees. I recently put a few trail cams in that area, and apparently the lions are still around.

I'm excited to begin 2026 directing these doctoral students in open and relational theology! And it was a pleasure to work with those who recently graduated. For info on the doctoral programs, see this link: www.northwindseminary.org/cort-2024
Which cover do you prefer? Some context: this is a collection of about 15 scholarly and practical essays exploring the theme in the book's title. The project is commissioned by Stephen G. Post and the Institute for Research on Unlimited Love, and a conference is planned at Linacre College (Oxford).

I'm looking forward to speaking in Houston this weekend with Deanna Young and Mark Umstot! Here's a link with info on the event. I'm closing my lecture with this quote from Ted Campbell. wildwood-umc.org/grace-in-mot...
As a college senior, I read a rough draft of a new systematic theology. It was written by Ray Dunning. I loved it! It used relational language to make sense of grace, faith, and holiness. Today, Dunning turns 99 years old. Congrats, Ray!
You can read my chapter βThe Decline of Omnipotence in Pop Cultureβ for free here along with @thomasjayoord.bsky.socialβs response. There is a link to the book of essays itβs a part of if youβre interested in alternative theologies to those of more classical types!
