Banning social media is at best a band aid solution, and at worse it's a backdoor to censorship, state surveillance and targeting of vulnerable social groups.
Young people need community, connections and places to belong. Taking away social media won't build that.
There is a severe lack of third spaces, transportation, accessible social opportunities and hobbies.
I strongly disagree with this. It's almost always part and parcel with attempts to classify 2SLGBTQ spaces as "adult only", and to isolate queer youth from support and community.
It's also a nightmare for privacy. I don't trust social media with documents required for age verification
