there's so much bad in the world but there's also people who lift up and carry an elderly bat around every day so he can pretend he's flying again, and that's the part of the world I think is worth fighting for

A plant pot on which is growing a very groovy looking moss, bright green with oval knobbly bits held up on very slim stalks.
Disco moss! This is funaria hygrometrica which popped up all by itself in a pot next to some lavender. @bsbibotany.bsky.social #moss #nature

It's aplastic anaemia awareness day! More accurately described as bone marrow failure, you can't cure it with spinach. If you want to know more about this super-rare condition try www.theaat.org.uk They do great work with the tiny AA community - about 2 in a million people diagnosed each year.
Time for @jesuscollegecam.bsky.social to invest in some new old books!

Overhead photo of a car showroom. There is a bike rack circled at the side of the building. It is located directly behind two occupied parking bays and additional cars blocking the access.
Google street view shot of a bike rack at the inaccessible side of a building, hidden from sight of any passers-by.
Went to a car showroom a while back - the kind of place someone might reasonably cycle to until they have a car. Here's where the bike parking is. I locked up against the wall near the entry since people might actually be walking past that area.
Have a little lunchtime treat - our MD @RalphWoodward2 talking about the #WarRequiem in deepest Suffolk - 23 minutes of insights and sneak peeks at the Red House and the manuscript - brilliant! www.youtube.com/watch?v=9J5T...
The covers of Ottoline and the purple fox, The mysterious Benedict society, Electrigirl, and Emily Lime Librarian detective.
The covers of Rose Raventhorpe investigates black cats and butlers, and Murder most unladylike.
Not sure if these might be a little bit old in terms of storyline, but all have excellent girl characters.
Pretty much, yeah.

Regret to announce that weβve reached Wrong Coat season. Every coat you wear from now til mid April will be The Wrong Coat for the weather
I'll fetch it up properly and have a closer look through the pages which were attacked. Watch this space.
No, weirdly, although they didn't like this part about the consecration either.
A gathering of printed sheets. The lower half is flaking away. Worms have nibbled the central section and the paper is just holding together. You can see the light through it where the holes go all the way through the pages.
I mean I kind of want to frame this detached gathering as some kind of commentary on the occasional ephemerality of the early printed word. There is no way we are going to sort out that tangled wormed section in the centre and I feel maybe we shouldn't.
A handwritten note reading "Not to be touched by any one", the last two words underlined.
Page from a 16th century primer in which a reference to "the virgin thy mother" has been crossed through in ink.
An opening of a 16th century primer in which pages referencing Our Lady have been crossed through such that repairs have been needed.
Secondly, and hoping that no curses shall fall down upon me as a result of touching it, another mid sixteenth-century volume whose previous owner really didn't like Our Lady. Thankfully this one has seen careful repair. 2/2 @theulspeccoll.bsky.social
A handwritten note reading "Sarum Primer in ruinous condition, had better not be touched until it is to be mended. Found in the roof of a cottage in Suffolk"
A small book whose cover has fallen off. There are wormholes in the back and many pages have crumbled away.
A small book which appears to have been nibbled by rodents.
Love opening up a box or two in the stacks to see what's inside and found two absolute treasures today. First up, a poor ruinous mid-sixteenth century primer which alas has not yet been mended, and doesn't appear in the catalogue. @theulspeccoll.bsky.social 1/2
