Speaking of the passage of time, someone reblogged my Splatoon crab yaoi comic with a very kind tag comment. Their profile says they're 20 & the comic is approaching 7 years, so they could have read it as young as 13, & it's wild to think about. I'll repost it here some other day.

It's old enough to make me wince, but it's also one of the only times I've had a comic on tumblr reach 15k -and- get multiple fan dubs from strangers on the internet, so that's a fond memory around it.

Hachiware dreams of trying to save Chiikawa from the cliff's edge, but Chiikawa refuses to grab, terrified of the monster's paw that is Hachiware's hand. Hachiware wakes up from their nightmare panting and sweating, relieved it was just a dream, but still deeply afraid.

Rakko the seasoned warrior decides to take a quick break at a cafe and asks to get their usual: a cute strawberry parfait that they eat with delight as they rub their cheeks

Kurimanju works hard in the sweltering heat, eyes full of hope as they eat their beer and potatoes with butter mayonaise, and down it with a nice pint of beer

Kurimanju is getting shaved ice and is just about to put blue hawaiian sauce on top, but they overhear Hachiware and Chiikawa speculating if they would put alcohol on top. Beaming with joy and not wanting to disappoint the 2 onlookers, they opt to poor some kinda liquor on top of their shaved ice & do their trademark 'KI-SO', much to Chiikawa and Hachiware's delight

Do you like Kirby purely for how cute Kirby & his friends are, & how much they all love food of all kinds, especially sweets? Chiikawa is full of tiny cute critters enjoying food. I'm fond of Kurimanju for being the 'man it's nice to drink a beer' middle aged man energy rep while still being Baby

So every time I've seen Chiikawa up to this point, it's been in the context of merch. I def saw this Lil Baby a ton when I was in Japan. Having read the manga now, I say if you're a fan of Kirby, there's a solid chance you might enjoy reading/probably watching Chiikawa

I'm still so heartbroken at the mimic reveal...I hope Chiikawa gets a real pet someday....

Chiikawa thinks of the goals they made with their friends, then yells passionately to the clock, shaking their head no. They express even if they don't know what the future might hold and it might be bad, they believe they and their friends can reach their dreams together. Chiikawa says this all via baby and illustrated word balloons mind you.

Kurimanju fries up siitake mushroom heads on a frying pan, eats it fresh, drinks a shot of sake right afterwards, and lets out a hearty 'HAAA....!' afterwards. God I wish that was me.

The dream for the end of the week is to enjoy a drink as heartily as this buddy who seems like they'd be the best drinking buddy ever.

Chiikawa after a busy night of studying goes out to take a stretch break when they spot a bag of food left by their friend Hachimare. Chiikawa looks delighted and gratefully eats it with a tear in their eye as they think about their friend. God I wish that was me so bad.

Chiikawa had a rough day of fighting monsters and walks back home exhausted. When they open the door, their little beetle pet greets them with a hug at the door, which moves Chiikawa to tears as they hug back. This is me when I visit my parent's cats.
