AN 8+ SCORE IS RARE (AS IT SHOULD BE.) 128,020 evaluations. Five years. Here's what the score distribution actually looks like.

How rare is an 8+ overall score from a Black List website reader? Quite rare. (As it should be.)

The Black List and WIF will invite six promising non-professional television writers who are of an underrepresented gender (women, NB/GNC, and/or trans, and others) to the Lab, which will consist of script development, pitching, peer workshopping sessions, and much more.

Nearly half of all Episodic Lab participants are staffed and working in film and television. Our incredible alumni have worked on projects ranging from KPOP DEMON HUNTERS to INDUSTRY to ST. DENIS MEDICAL and we feel VERY fortunate that many of them return to the program to mentor incoming cohorts.

We are so excited to expand our collaboration with Tubi with this incredible new initiative! If you have a horror feature script, we strongly encourage you to learn more at blcklst.com/programs

02.03.2026 18:00 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Fee waivers are also available for this program! Submitting writers will be asked to answer the question β€œWhy is your horror film a great fit for Tubi?” when requesting a fee waiver. 100 fee waivers will be distributed at the discretion of The Black List and Tubi.

Emerging and established writers with a feature script in the horror genre are encouraged to submit their project for further consideration in Tubi x Black List Horror Initiative. Submissions will remain open until June 30, 2026 – write that deadline down now and get to work, writers!

02.03.2026 18:00 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

The selected script will be purchased by Tubi, taking into account the budget of the film but for no less than the WGA upset price. From there, Tubi will determine what additional writing steps may be necessary until greenlight and production.
