My East London mum spent her whole life gradually moving further out, talking about retiring to the country. In her 60s she moved out to a small village and after 18 months one Sunday she went to make a cuppa to have with Downton. Milk was off. No tea. She moved back to Zone 4

If I want to go out, there is not only frequent, cheap public transport, but *multiple options* depending on my route preference.
I’m not just ‘never leaving London’ - you can try to drag my decaying corpse from this city and it’ll come to life and shriek in outrage.
For every person who reaches a certain age and decides London is too busy for them there’s another like me who understands we could never survive without this convenience.
It has been two decades since I lived more than a 5 minute walk from a 24 hour shop.
It’s one of those neat ways to phrase something that’ll stick in my mind forever! V nicely put!

After all these years I am still shocked at the hours I spend with men who don't ask me a single thing aside from the initial "hi how are you?" I have had entire meals where I was talked at the whole time. It's maddening but also sad.
