Headline reads "The Covid immunity cycle: Why catching the virus is basically our new booster" below picture of glived hands preparing a wooden syringe or something honestly the picture is weird I can't even tell what it's meant to represent
Dangerously stupid headline.
(It implies catching Covid is a neutral alternative option to getting a booster. It is not).

Above a video of Trump signing the EO, Cartmell writes: "Restoring freedom by shrinking the U.S. federal government one Executive Order at a time. 👏"
The new donor to TOP is very much aligned to the Trump/Musk view of the world. Here he is on X celebrating Trump's EO that dismantles the Dept of Education. #NZpol

We dumped $671 million in the toilet ditching iRex, so add that to the $1.8 billion this wasteful vandalism has cost AND YOU GET TO ABOUT WHAT IREX COST IN 2023. AND THE WORK HASNT PROPERLY STARTED YET. AAAAAAAAAAGH

He often says he regularly meets iwi leaders up and down the country, because I can I OIA'd it

To Jan 20th 2026 there have been 1779 paid ACC claims for vaccine injury from 14 million doses. We know this already. side effects are no surprise, but they are rare. e.g. there were 73 vax site infections. But knowing facts does not publicise "angry bloke in pub's reckons" for ACT & NZF

In a sane political environment, the iReX debacle would have the current government unelectable this November.
In a term chocka block with monumental cock ups, this has be pretty much in the no. 1 position. #nzpol

Not to mention all the lost revenue as company's move to road transport to move their goods due to the uncertainty all now facing higher transport costs and the impact on the wider economy. Absolute muppets for petty political point scoring.

Cook Strait ferry project $167m over budget — and key port deals still unsigned
New documents reveal Ferry Holdings is relying on council-owned ports to cover cost blowouts.
What a shambles.
Luxon and Willis are wasting money and endangering the Cook Strait crossing.

The Post asked Hipkins’ office why he had ignored health officials’ advice, if he accepted Aucklanders endured restrictions for longer than necessary and if in hindsight, he would have done anything differently.
A spokesperson contested that Hipkins had ignored official advice.
The spokesperson said Cabinet papers ‒ generally written a week in advance ‒ contained preliminary advice and the director-general would give the final public health risk assessment the day Cabinet met.
“The most up to date information often came in a couple of hours before Cabinet,” they said.
“The director-general’s post-Cab transcript from that day sets out his advice: ‘So our view, and our advice, is that another week in alert level 4 in Auckland gives us our best chance to really finish the job off here.’”
So the main point that Nats have gleaned to kick Hipkins/Labour with from the Royal Commission into Covid is that Hipkins/Labour ignored official advice to keep Auckland in lockdown a week longer isn't even true? lol #NZPol

NZ'ers are paying $3 a litre for petrol. Did Luxon's Govt make this situation worse? Let's check the receipts:
1) They collapsed the EV market in NZ by killing the clean car discount + making fees to import gas guzzling cars nearly 80% cheaper. EV sales dropped 70% in NZ while globally sales rose

The need for reform to political donations in Aotearoa is screaming in our faces. Even if these are not quid pro quo donations, this is corrosive to trust in our elected officials.
Repealing the fast-track doesn't magically solve this either, we need some serious work on this. #nzpol

The real lesson of the second Covid-19 inquiry? We live in a post-truth world
Government ministers’ creative interpretations of the royal commission’s report took spin to scary new levels.
Essential read on this govt’s reckless gaslighting:
“It’s election year, I get it. But implying science & health advice was routinely being ignored fuels the distrust that erodes social cohesion—something the report is at pains to emphasise must be restored.” #nzpol

Political parties elections campaigns need to be funded by the state. Decide on a reasonable expense amount per MP and they will get according to the number of MPs they currently have. If they can't win with it, tough. It means your message is not appealing to the public.

The ONLY surprising thing about the covid inquiry and the weaponising of selective findings is it wasn't pushed out until say Sept or Oct so National could bang on & on about it & try to save their election.
I was expecting that.

Cartoon. Title: “Energy Drink” Picture shows Methanex president and CEO Rich Sumner sucking the dregs out of a can labelled “NZ” and saying, “Just a minute - nearly done” On the can, in small print it says, “Consumes 45% of NZ’s Natural Gas. Pays $70m to Canadian Owner. Receives high ETS subsidies. Too broke to pay taxes”
Fuel shortages and rising prices. A proposal to import expensive and dirty LNG and impose a gas levy. And then there’s Methanex, sucking up 45% of our natural gas.
