I'm sure I'd then have been rejected for living in a place where hawks exist and/or not having a whole catio for my cat-sized dog.

So I'm 99% sure I need a new drain pump and it would take a week for a real LG part to show up, and I'd have to disassemble the whole thing to get to it.
Paul said nvm it's 7 years old and we didn't choose it so he's ordering a new one. Hopefully we'll be good for another 7-10 years. ๐ซ
I followed LG's instructions for dealing with the OE error last night and it did a load fine today then threw the error again.
Non-zero chance I need to replace the drain pump but I also don't love this washer (came with the house) so I'm tempted to just yeet it and get a new one ๐ฉ
i try to make sure that his room is *his* room and his safe space so i *normally* only ever go in there to take stuff out to wash it.
paul calls it tossing his cell ๐๐ญ
Sorry I was trying to prove to the crazy lady that I'm not abusing you by putting you in your crate.
Waffles: okay but now I have to reorganize all my dentastix
I just heard a jingle behind me and turned around: "why did you take apart my room"
"away from the family" is entering our family lexicon so at least the nutty rescue gave us that ๐
My fuzzy little dog in his specially fenced off area of the yard. BUT AWAY FROM THE FAMILY (I'm watching him from inside).
I'm just so confused. With all of that information, "sleeps in separate room" is what you're fixated on? And upset about?
Sure be more open to sending him to a home that'll put him to sleep when he needs major surgery because it's too expensive, but at least he'll sleep in their room!11!!
I have tried so many times to get people to understand that carousels are the worst and also barely interacted with.
AND YET.
I was bigly mad but now I'm just confused ๐ This dog is my first and only child. He has his own *everything*. And yet ???
This is interesting but also sad. The one he settled on is closer to the French, which is what it is, but the original was *his* and probably reflects his LA heritage.
I once had a lady say - TO MY FACE - "is it okay if I just call you Mary?" because "mary-elle" was apparently "too hard".
I just don't understand the reasoning. Is he going to forget he's part of our family because he spends 8 hours unconscious in a separate room? Is he going to feel unloved because he's in his own space with his own bed and blanket? What are we doing here.
It's just so bizarre ๐ I haven't heard back from other rescues who knows maybe it's because I said Waffles sleeps in his crate.
Perfection. Art. 15/10.
anyway things are going so well that i had a dream that i cut my tailbone-length hair off to be shoulder length
a thing women are known to do only when totally content never when they are stressed or Going Through It
๐ต that's that me depresso ๐ต
lmfao bff: "Remember the people in law school that didn't understand 'totality of the circumstances'? This is when they run a dog rescue."
I'm trying really hard to find a dog to *adopt* but I stg.
I'd be slightly less mad if their texts weren't also snotty ๐ Like just *tell me what you wanted*. They've wasted multiple hours of my time by not just saying "sorry, we require the dog sleep in your bedroom".
Right?? Their website goes on and on about the work they do, how they were founded, their "team", how important it is to find them homes.
But then this? "We understand you're willing and able to provide specialty medical care as he ages, but not sleeping in your room is a deal-breaker."
(6) I train using positive reinforcement (7) I have experience training a shelter dog in everything, from scracth.
BUT NO, HE SLEEPS IN A SEPARATE ROOM. IN A CRATE.
0/10, no new dog for you.
This tells you (1) The dog has almost constant company (2) I have a clear understanding of the financial obligations of a dog and this breed (the grooming) (3) I'm willing and able to get medical specialists (4) I'm aware of and have purchased insurance (5) He only stays with family when we travel.
I just can't get over *that* being the deal-breaker.
The wanted my name/address/cell/DOB, Paul's cell/DOB. My employer's name/address/contact person/phone. How long I've worked there. Info about Waffles/his vet's name/phone/location. A personal reference and their phone/addres, and then the below.
Expecting someone to (1) adopt a dog (2) let the dog have free run of the house without supervision (3) and sleep in the new owner's bedroom/bed -- without any training -- is nuts.
Routine, training, and structure are healthy for dogs. What is this.
I sent them a long text about/photos of Waffes crate and the training I've done and how we use the crate because I was confused by their message, but their final reply makes it sound like him not being in the bedroom is the primary issue. THEN JUST SAY THAT INSTEAD OF WASTING MY TIME.
If you don't want it on the application because you don't want people to lie, then at least just say "Unfortunately we require that a dog sleep in the family's bedroom". Instead of a weird message asking me to "explain".
The more I think about it the more annoying this is. Each of these applications takes an hour to complete. If you know what you want, why are you making people guess?
Just - how do you adopt out to people then? I don't like the game of "say the magic word". If it's a requirement that a dog sleep in someone's bedroom that should be on your application.
