Today Lorna attended the CAN-EMPOWER launch. It's a fantastic online resource helping with the psychological / emotional aspects of cancer. A great piece of joint work between researchers (CentRIC+) & patients/carers. Well done to all involved.

Tim Rogers (Change Makers Collective) has created some podcasts for Jersey called "Conversations About Cancer". This week was Lorna Pirozzolo's turn.
All are well worth a listen!

A great piece in the @jerseyeveningpost.com.web.brid.gy
today. Please have a read and consider what life changes (small or big) you can make to help reduce the island's cancer burden. We can all play our part, it isn't just for our healthcare services to act on this.
Great to see Opt-Out Breast Screening becoming a reality in Jersey. Well done @govje.bsky.social Screening Programme Team and Jersey Cancer Relief for this collaboration.

Lorna will be on BBC Jersey (TV) tonight, discussing breast screening. Possibly followed up by an article on the website.

Got back from Scotland on Friday. It was 19 degrees the first few days. 😂 Parents have snow now though. - Lorna
Screen grab of cancer.JE's Facebook post text advertising a documentary, as follows: "This documentary is on just now on BBC1 Scotland and we presume, hope, will go on to be available on iPlayer. As a fellow Scot of the same age Glenn Campbell is a well-kent part of Lorna's adulthood in his role as a Scottish journalist and broadcaster. It's great to see how this documentary highlights so many aspects of living with cancer (specifically a brain tumour for Glenn), from the low points to the high points and the effect on daily life. It also highlights something dear to our own hearts, the benefits that can come from interaction with, or learning from, other patients. As cancer patients will know, there are some benefits that can ONLY come from other patients, no matter how much our medical teams, family or friends wish it could come from them. We wish Glenn all the best with his treatment and thank him for raising awareness and letting people see what the reality of his situation is. We also send our love to him and his family, and Lorna hopes to watch him on TV for many years to come." Below the text is the BBC's hyperlink to information about the documentary which includes an image of Glenn Campbell against a background of the sea and an island.
This documentary is well worth a watch. We wish Glenn, and his family, well.

So glad to have you on here. We will either leave or, at least, limit interaction on the cesspit that is Twitter. - Lorna
