Random question for the TL:
Do I have any MSP friends/mutuals with footage of any ICE protests here they'd be willing to share with me? I'm working on a campaign video for my friend who's running for office and I'd love permission to use a tiny blip of one.
(Happy to share the script too)

ayo?? I love it??
Honestly this is the reason I want to upgrade from a partial to a full suit at some point.
My first time in someone's full suit the comments were "OMG cute puppy!!" and in my partial it's "omg I love the suit" and both are incredibly validating, but the first one DOES things to my brain π₯΄

I remember really digging "White China" and I seem to recall that different vinyl pressings produced varying degrees of good stereo separation... but now I'm just badly regurgitating things from my father, who worked at a record store in the 80's and was also, incidentally, a big Ultravox fan.
See as much as I love and appreciate Ultravox, the only albums I own are Vienna and Rage in Eden... I probably should also pick up a copy of Lament at some point too now that I think about it.
The answer in my heart to best opening track is "World in my Eyes" from Violator by Depeche Mode
... but the objectively correct answer to "best opening track on an album" is arguably still "Everything in its Right Place" from Radiohead's Kid A
I have the version that opens with Sleepwalk and it is truly a banger.
Too many people sleep on Ultravox and Vienna is one of the best alternative albums of the 80's IMHO.
Ah yes, the "Nap Van Winkle"
The takeaway from the success of Iron Lung isn't to fund YouTubers making sci-fi movies about games.
The secret is that Markiplier is a creative person who made something that excited him.
This is also the secret sauce behind Sinners.
There is no repeatable trend. Fund creative people. The end
YEP. A character who's literally there just to go "WOW THIS IS REALLY FAMILIAR YOU GUYS" that nobody listens to until it's too late.
I still wholly intend to do some kind of essay about Short Circuit 2 because Johnson directed that and he was equally unsubtle and not-normal about it.
God V was INCREDIBLE
Kenneth Johnson swung for the fences and people STILL missed what he was trying to do.
I love that the original pitch was to do a TV version of "It can't happen here" and the NBC execs were like "nah nobody would believe that"
Ah gotcha. It looks like the buzzfeed one is still up. This was the OG one I think (there were two CN accounts.)
Either way not showing up as deleted for me yet π€
I'm still seeing it. What got deleted??
WOW. What a completely rotten situation.
Kudos on this creative team for standing up for themselves in the fight against genAI, but also DAMN.
I guess I can't really blame anyone for that, but also the people running the site have kind of always been bad at it so this shouldn't really shock anyone either.
Wait is that why my timeline has been quieter than normal? Are people actually LEAVING en masse again?
hmm alright alright that's valid
2 or 3 for me, maybe 5
(I don't trust anyone who says 7)
Weren't these people going to hire a comms director at some point??
I'm not seeing any of it, so clearly the right folks have me blocked haha.
Probably one of the saddest things about folks relying on AI slop to make their art is the lost potential of someone's unique voice when it comes to their work
Like I don't want "perfect" I want "you"
