Innit
The drop off after Pop...yeeesh. Larry took the reigns back.
It's cute that there is the pretence that US and Israel aren't all the one either.
I have to say I was disappointed to discover recently that they have their music on Spotify.
When I was first shown the app they were the first band I searched for coz I figured thru all this hype they wouldn't be there (and then, they weren't).
This is great. Buy it.
It once took me I think 4yrs (poss longer) to fulfill a mix request.
It's really really starting to feel like US & Israel gonna set the whole world on fire.
Martin going to White House in a couple weeks is genuinely shameful at this stage.
The Deal sisters are great. Kelley comes across like a Midwest US Mom in interviews tho clearly also tapped at the same time ๐ . Both just born with a natural talent for music (and divelment).
Haha.
A solid reminder of Corgan douchery is him (recently!) saying Nirvana stole his multi-layered guitar sound on Nevermind coz of working with Vig. Yes you were the 1st person to do that, Billy and you yerself didn't steal it from MBV M8.
It's taken me a while to be able to come back around and listen to those first run of albums because he's so insufferable. For years I couldn't do it ๐
Bricfeasta live on DDR til midday. Kicking off with recent new music from the wonderful Michael Lightborne on Gleo.

He did a (very short) q&a too which was really interesting.
Dublin International Film Festival is wrapped for me this year. I'd a good one this year.
These are my top 3 recomms for the coming year, all really outstanding:
The Rose of Nevada (Mark Jenkin)
Magellan (Lav Diaz)
The Last Viking (Anders Thomas Jensen)
This place is as dopey as twitter sometimes. All for criticism of the media coverage of what goes on in the Middle East but this has been a major news story everywhere I've looked.
The New Mark Jenkin, Rose of Nevada, is outstanding. Little bit disappointed to find out after that Jenkin doesn't have an impenetrable Cornish accent.
Bricfeasta show is live across the world wide internet via DDR.
Live till midday!

I see technics mk7s retailing for โฌ8-900 now. We're they not closer to โฌ1.5k when they came out?
Always a good time when Shane plays this. @dublindigitalradio.bsky.social was fun last night.

Fuck off. Is that clear enough.
I thought I'd left people like you behind leaving twitter.
Not my experience growing up consuming BBC, ITV alongside RTE.
"Reframing things". Where did I endorse it?
Here look, I'm done. I never said it was noble. I'm saying how IT IS PERCIEVED and yes I'm shouting because you are wilfully not understanding what I am saying.
The IRA were the main enemy in the media. The British behaved atrociously and that is not my memory of how it was portrayed.
Things have also changed when it comes to say the attitude towards imperialism, again not specific to us, but world wide and that has aided in reframing things for younger generations as it being a noble fight against colonisers.
Never said it did. Talking about how I experienced consuming media growing up.
Enjoyed playing lots of vox n soulful house gear last night, a sound that doesn't get a lot of space on dancefloors in Dublin these days. Was very satisfying seeing the floor fill up for this massive Ronnie Trent banger.
Shouts to that one dude esp wiggin' out to it.
