This year, any game I played that had a character creator, but didn't have skin tone options, got those darker skin tones modded in. This has been hella empowering! Here's me and my partner's characters in SMT Imagine (the 2004 SMT MMO that was live for 2 years)

Sword & Fairy 4 had combat QTEs since 2007.
The remake's art direction is exactly the same since its reveal in Dec 2024.
The combat UI is every modern JRPG ever, from Trails of Cold Steel III to Persona 5 to Star Rail.

For the Shadow of the Colossus story, we interviewed 14 people including project leads Fumito Ueda and Kenji Kaido, hired Gravity Rush concept artist Takeshi Oga to illustrate the cover, and put together a 10,000-word story with help from @milkman.bsky.social @shmuplations.bsky.social and others.
This framing now makes The Alamo Draft houses linking of this game to a series they did on Kurosawa Films (inspired by Ghost of Yotei) felt it should be the other way around though.
