This big cats attracted to wheelchairs thing came in very handy at the Philly zoo, however. They had a plexiglass viewing area and I drew a male lion toward me. We were basically face to face. Very magical moment, that one.

I was frozen in shock and I knew my mom could tell was about to have a huge meltdown. She took me to the bathroom and they, of course, had the worst paper towels imaginable. There wasn't a lot we could do. All I can say is thank god it only hit my legs.

Lol Ok full story. I was 13 or 14 at the Cape May Zoo in NJ. Tiger enclosure was literally just a chainlink fence & maybe 5 feet until another measley guest fence. That was the day I learned big cats get VERY interested in wheelchair movement. It paced in front of me for ages, turned, and marked me.
