That’s really interesting Helen, that’s where I grew up! I didn’t know about @tocharstories.bsky.social.

Thank you. The Irish ones were more traditional in 2024 at any rate, according to the CSO!

I’m happy I kept my CD and LP collections as I always thought there is always the risk that music streamers could in theory set prices at some exorbitant level in the future but we own these albums for ever.

Is that in the UK?

Surely all Democrats should have a ready explanation for the fact that there are financial and humanitarian downsides to the current border strategy and that the Democrats proposed a more enlightened approach last year but weren’t supported by Republicans?

I was just thinking that!

Sorry, I didn’t mean this article specifically but I think generally it should be seen as a sign of desperation!

I can’t understand why this isn’t the headline story!

How sad that the party has such a poor bench that they want to run the same person again?

It must be time for teenagers to find a scrappy independent social media platform that blows the existing ones out of the water!

Is there anyone documenting all of the censuring of history that is taking place to make it easier for opposition politicians and the public to understand the scale of it?

I think you need people with relentless focus on addressing job insecurity, cost of living relative to income and confronting big business power that threatens ability of ordinary people to live fulfilling lives. Huge levels of pessimism among Gen Z here in Ireland, think it’s prevalent everywhere.

When such a devastating tragedy happens, I think it is completely reasonable for an opposition party to say that questions need to be asked about whether anything could be done to prevent this happening again. That’s where the spotlight on investment in readiness comes in.

We had a package put in our Green bin recently but I wasn't notified by An Post so it went out with the bins that week. The supplier replaced it and said they would pursue it with An Post.

Yes, in Ireland the schools and hospitality sector were only closed when the numbers needing hospitalisation rose to or near levels that hospitals and especially the Intensive Care Units couldn’t cope with. I’d like to think that capacity is being increased to avoid similar crises in future.

Meanwhile, we should be keeping an eye on the job losses wider uptake of AI might bring about - we may soon be romanticising the heyday of office work.

There is a very pointed nostalgia for the β€˜good old days’ in comments under photos of places like O’Connell St or Henry in 1980s on Facebook or X.

I was listening to BBC news piece about it yesterday and every single interviewee was asked about impact of Zelensky β€˜blowing it’. No consideration of fact that, unlike Macron and Starmer, Zelensky knew he was about to sign a commercial deal with the US after which he would have a lot less leverage.

Surely we can expect a major backlash from women to an administration so brazenly elevating misogynists?

I'm not in the US but I feel there will be a time in the not too distant future when this frenzy to remove words like Justice and Inclusion will be seen as a strange phase?

RTE website and stories directing share buttons to Facebook, X and LinkedIn

Why is public Irish media @news.rte.ie @rte.ie not changing its digital and social media strategy and is still sending public media audiences to places like X that now resemble Truth Social? It's using this platform but has not adapted share buttons or policy/playbook for journalists?
