Not sure what financial chaos I caused in January, but it was serious enough for the @financialtimes.com to check in on me.

We'll keep our 'Kirby wrapped' post brief. There's one number we really want to share with you. Together, we’ve collected and donated €4,778 to the Against Malaria Foundation in 2025. 💛
This is a great achievement. We are very grateful that you use our donation chechbox at checkout so frequently!
These annual ‘year wrapped’ things are melting my brain.
Spotify, Amazon, Strava, LinkedIn… mostly fine.
But Miro?
256 collaborators. 1,936 boards. ”Specialism in workshops.”
Lots of numbers.
Zero insight.
Genuinely worried about what might Microsoft one might say.
AI reads your site like a blind person.
This piece explains why accessibility matters for AI search. Clear structure, proper headings, meaningful alt text, and transcripts help models understand context
The work that helps people use your site helps AI interpret it.

The report found that the OBR had uploaded its budget documents to a link which it believed to be inaccessible to the public. However, because the organisation was using a particular add-on to the WordPress publishing system, the link ended up being live, unbeknownst to the OBR itself.
2025:
A WordPress plug-in accidentally pushes something to live - the chair of a national institution resigns
OpenAI intentionally release products to a mass market that includes errors, manipulations and stolen material - cool, cool
Is this how it works?

#CampDigital is back! As many of you already know, it's an absolutely wonderful event for for anyone working in design, accessibility, and digital transformation.

Quick question. I’m in need of some advice.
Does anyone of any good platforms for publishing conference slides that maintain accessibility quality/standards?
I’ve not looked into it for a while, but it’s always been a bit of a big bear of mine.
Thanks in advance.
One of the funniest headlines I’ve read in ages.
“Heathrow, NatWest and Minecraft sites down in Microsoft global outage”
100% this!!!!!
Smashing Magazine sent out another good newsletter.
This time they talk about how measuring traffic to a site is a vanity metric, particularly in this era of people using AI to find what they need instead of going to source materials.

Can’t believe we’re not already connected tbh. 🫣
I’ve just accepted
No worries at all,
overall we tend to lean more towards the social model of disability questions, but sometimes the medical model can help too, particularly if people are going to be talking about their specific health conditions and treatments
Hey @cjforms.bsky.social,
We often adapt our approach depending on the study and audience.
Here’s a good example of the types of questions we use:

Today, we're launching Transforming Public Services for a Modern Wales. This report sets out a clear path for the next Welsh Government to move beyond short-term fixes and deliver better, human-centred services.

@deanvipond.bsky.social looking forward to your session Dean!
I was in a meeting last week when you started presenting - but as I walked back into the office a couple of people said to me “it was brilliant” and they were looking forward to learning more. 🙌
I've been thinking about this post a lot today (related, my son got a detention for "not having his shirt tucked in") and the whole "seeing like a state" approach to rule-based and technocratically managed childhoods is so at odds with anything that will produce resilient, curious, confident adults
Had a great chat with Al Duggin today. He said something that I think every designer and developer should adopt as their accessibility mantra:
“Designing to include means making experiences that work for as many people as possible, without them having to adjust anything for it to meet their needs.”
I was going to say something similar! Always love our natters.
AI is definitely changing the way people access information. I know some advice, and guidance organisations are already rethinking how their services are designed and delivered to users to help them stay relevant and trustworthy.
Next Thursday (9th), I’ll be having an informal and candid chat to Katy Cowan at @creativeboom.com about the power of Grayskull — I mean *side projects*.
It’s online and free to attend — just sign up to The Studio (again, for free).

This is a good summary of where we are, from @joannelockwood.bsky.social, in a funny, not funny way: open.substack.com/pub/joannelo...?
That does sound like a great read. Thanks for the tip — I’ll definitely check it out.
Hope you’re well @acuity.design 👋
