re: that tinted window provision. I've understood that Oregon has fairly strict rules about the dash window & front seat windows. but if so, they aren't enforced. I see lots of Oregon-licensed cars with front side windows that you can't see through. I always think that would be a problem for a cop.

I think that to have an informed discussion about this topic, it's necessary to understand how we got here. & how thoroughly the Supreme Court blew up the NCAA's authority over college sports. they blew up all the rules & it's been chaos ever since. Now colleges are screaming for rules from above.

As I understand it, they were asking Congress to intervene. not Trump. they were asking for committee hearings & a chance to testify. They wanted legislation. At some point Trump got involved & put on this pointless shitshow. calling it a roundtable. invited some MAGA friends. it was ridiculous.

College presidents & ADs have been asking—begging—Congress to intervene in the unregulated feeding frenzy that NIL has unleashed. Between NIL & the lax system around the transfer portal, it's the Wild West—there are almost no rules. Colleges want rules. So Trump convened this nonsensical roundtable.

there were—as I understand it—only 2 college athletes invited. both of them Heisman trophy winners who went on to the NFL & are long-since retired. & neither one of whom went thru the college system under the current regime. can't remember who the other guy was.
