At least 1, possibly 2 overwintered in the garden (fairly recent new norm), but 2 singing for over a week now is a new development.
@jammyjimm
Interested in all birds, beasts + fishes. Birding ex-wildfowler - opposed to all wildlife crime. #nocmig and #BWPUC dabbler. Home is Bedfordshire, but family in Scotland and USA, so I bird a bit there too. Not interested in any politics.

@mulbartonbirder.bsky.social Pic of my nocmig settings for Chirpity as discussed. Cheers.
He needs locking up for that spelling alone!
Yes, it does get a lot of things wrong, but I adjust the confidence etc then get to know what you can safely ignore. I'll send you my settings when I do last night's stuff in a bit if you want?
A Little Gull hovering over the water, with a Coot sitting on the water to its right - Gypsy Lane East, Broom GPs, Bedfordshire, UK. A pity that it was such a grey day at this point, but I suppose they may not have stopped if it had been sunny and clear.
A Little Gull flying over water to catch insects. The bird is just about to turn, which means you can clearly see the black underwing, with white edges. This bird is just starting to gain its summer plumage, which means it doesn't have a full black hood yet.
A Little Gull dipping low over the surface of water and just about to catch a floating insect.
There's either nothing doing, or it's all go from a #UKBirding perspective in Bedfordshire. A cracking group of 5 Little Gulls dropped into Broom GPs early this afternoon (noted by Matt K), before departing north after approx 45 minutes of flycatching. I never knew they hunted Coots though ๐
No problem + good luck!
It's easy Chris + I've never had to download anything else. Just open your file, then analyse. A bit of tweaking with settings to get a decent confidence etc. It's not perfect, but it saves heaps of time.
A pint of Guinness on a pub table on a warm, sunny day in Bedfordshire, UK.
Just been told that it's Monday today, who knew? #retired ๐ป
Currently watching the GW Teal at Gypsy Lane East, Broom GPs, Bedfordshire; from the metal gate, by parking area. Ignore any bird services piffle about viewing it from the screen, as they've been (wrongly) recycling that old info #UKBirding
Thank you. Such a cute little bird ๐
A pint of Guinness and a bottle of Budweiser (๐คฎ) on a glass table, outside a Bedfordshire pub, as the sun sets behind a house roof.
I'm still asked at least once a week if I miss work........ ๐ ๐ป
Birds don't have to be rare to give enjoyment (for me anyway). Spent about 20 minutes today watching this Reed Bunting, singing its heart out, in the warm (and very welcome) sunshine #UKBirding
74 Catbirds in a fairly small clump of brush/trees, next to gardens (SC, during Fall migration) is one of the wildest birding things I've ever seen.
What type of Yuengling? Black + tan is probably my favourite beer ๐ป
Cheeky bugger ๐
I had 2 at Cobbinshaw the other day Scott, along with 10 Oycs, but no Curlew yet.
Thank you!
How did that go? ๐
Hi Scott. I was assuming it would be you that found it but didn't see any finder info at the time. Thanks once again!
I was only 10 minutes away from Lanark when I saw news of someone (thank you!) finding a bean goose sp with Pinkfeet. Went for a look, and it turned out to be a Tundra #BirdingScotland
Hate it when that happens Jonny!
Presumably no sniper threat, given the very obvious officer in 2nd pic?
Thank you Mark.
I reckon this front bird is 1 of those weird Pinkfeet with (not very) orange legs, rather than anything else, but I'd be interested in any opinions, thanks #BirdingScotland
Spent some time trying to find any White-billed Divers upriver of the Forth Bridges with no luck, so nipped across to Inverkeithing and saw 2 of 3 in that area #BirdingScotland #BirdsSeenIn2026
No John, I was there later + my wife isn't a birder (to put it very mildly) ๐ I did speak to that couple though, who kindly put me onto the 1st bird.
1 of these had a flatty so big earlier this afternoon that it took about 10 minutes to finally get it down John.

Phonescope shot of a Spotted Redshank wading in calm water at Kinneil Lagoon, Scotland.
Highlights at Kinneil Lagoon just now: 2(f) Common Scoter, 16 Scaup (+ hybrid Tufty) offshore. Spotted Redshank close to path (see arrow) by main Lagoon @upperforthbirds.bsky.social #BirdingScotland
To think that this time last week we were seeking shade from the sun on a golden sand beach...... ๐
Whitefronts I'd say.
