So many McDonalds, so little time π

The Chicago Bean, officially known as Cloud Gate, is a large stainless steel sculpture located in Millennium Park. Designed by artist Anish Kapoor, it reflects the city's skyline and is a popular attraction for visitors.
Thanks!
Will have to pursue.
Reminded me of this tourist fave in my hometown, actually saw it last time I was back 10-12 years ago and it is simple yet impressive IRL - details in ALT
Terrific Photo π
Do you know the architect for that space? Fabulous urban area!
Slightly stunned Goldfinch to Left on roadside leaf litter.
Very Nice π
Got a side profile this morning of a slightly stunned Goldfinch with my flip phone by the roadside. Must have bounced off a windshield? Only way I ever get a close up unless I've got the real camera with me π
Very Nice π
Take out the "christians" and Churches can be good for something π
This is my local Arts Center in a former Church, I've done gigs there and my late Mum had a one woman show there 5 years ago.

Morning sun highlighted Sugar Maple against bare brown ground below and pale blue sky above. Sap probably rising but no one taps these anymore :(
Close up of another Sugar Maple with gnarly bark and pale sky above.
Slightly stunned Goldfinch by the roadside on Left with leaf litter and a bit of woods beyond in the ditch.

R.I.P. Country Joe McDonald π
Once had the privilege of mixing sound for him in a small club in the Bay area around the turn of the century.
His classic is so relevant today -

Marks & Sparks looks awfully downmarket there. I guess they keep the really nice ones in England π
Once bought a brolly from the store in Montreal in the late 70's when they still had stores in Canada, nice store and the brolly lasted for years π
Cool photo BTW π
Looking South down paved road with dark woods to either side and strips of remaining snow, cloudy sky above with just a hint of blue at the horizon.
White office desk mat partially buried in dried brown leaves against tree stump. In the middle of the woods, don't ask me how it came to be there :)
View to the East, gray cloudy sky with a tiny bit of blue behind bare trees on the Right above County gravel pit.
Looking SSW across road at the bottom and sun trying to burn through cloudy gray sky above dark trees.

Had to go to comments for the cross-pond reference, good one!
One that had me scratching my head many years a go was RETEP - Peter backwards π
A couple of standard strat pups back to back π
Must have had ordered too many accidentally from a vendor in Japan π
Never could understand Fender's aversion to shielded cables?
Lets just string a bunch of antennas in a high gain environment, what could possibly go wrong?
Gibson - coax braid day 1 π
Fantastic, and sadly spot on!
Puppets! No AI! Love it!
Thanks for sharing, now I have to find on youtube as I don't do tik tack π
Sounds interesting (pun intended).
My Father taught product design at UIC and was a graduate of the early ID "New Bauhaus" school.
I taught "Sound Synthesis and Acoustics" at SAIC in the late 80's under Bob Snyder, author of "Music and Memory".
I worked in advertising music prior to that, psyop/UX π
Back in the 80's it was "I love the smell of Dektol in the morning............... smells like a paycheck" π
I used to regularly align Studer 24 tracks and can't say I miss that as well. If folks understood all the convoluted steps needed to record decent analog by us engineers they might think again
the reverse version of those βevolution of manβ drawings
They get less "wild" every year it seems. Here in West
Michigan I often come across them in my front yard and on my walks on the country roads nearby. Sadly see them up close too often as roadkill βΉοΈ
Magnificent birds!
Nice track! π
Just bought some analog old school boxes from Detroit Modular, this inspires me to actually hook them up and start making sounds again π
As a former professional audio engineer and chemical photographer from the 20th century I have to disagree. Vinyl is stupid, most was mastered from tape with far more dynamic range. Modern digital audio is much higher fidelity in it's pro form, it's mp3's that suck!
Same with film, don't miss mess π
βFavourability of the United States has plummeted to a historic low of 20% β second only to Russia.β
Thanks, still haven't completely dried out yet. Thought to grab a brolly but it was warm enough and I'm not made of sugar so I don't melt π
Fender was trying a lot of goofy wiring/pup arrangements around this time.
There was an authorized Fender repair shop in Chicago back then that also had a retail counter that sold factory overstock parts and I actually scored a few wired pickguards similar to this, long gone now π
Forgot how good & funky this one was! Thanks π
