I made that Minion pull-apart cake with three different kinds of cupcakes and frosting and dammit I'm using it as my avatar.

And then, of course, the greatest example is the money printing. It’s the most complicated one for anyone to understand. I don’t think there are 10 Members of Parliament who even understand how government is creating inflation by printing money. But the reality is, we’ve been creating cash about seven times faster than we build homes. So the result is that housing costs continually inflate.

Just complete fabrications from Poilievre, and nobody challenges him on it. Too many people believe that he knows what he's talking about, and it's all just bullshit.
(This from the interview he did with Wells).

Netanyahu is no more the leader of all Jews than Osama bin Laden was the leader of Muslims. Or Putin the leader of Orthodox Christians. Followers of a religion are not responsible for the actions of someone else in their congregation.

I don't think we have to strain to understand how hatred for a religion becomes embedded in society and its institutions - 25 years after 9/11 and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't hear disparaging comments and threats directed at Muslims.

Democratic Turnout Surges in Mississippi’s US Senate Primaries, Nearly Matching GOP Total Mississippi Democrats turned out in large numbers in the March 10 midterm primaries, nearly matching the total number of Republican votes cast.

NEW: Democratic turnout surged in Mississippi's U.S. Senate primaries Tuesday—coming within about 7,000 votes of matching GOP turnout.

About 156,000 Democrats voted on Tuesday—up from just 87,931 in 2018, the last midterm Senate primary.

Scott Colom says it shows he can beat Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith.

Buckley Belanger (Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill River) was most likely elected on name recognition and his past performance in provincial politics as an NDP MLA.

Party may be the reason you and a lot of people vote, but that doesn't mean its the way we elect MPs and MLAs in this country.

I'm not being obtuse - I'm stating fact. I worked for a political party - I'm aware of candidates who got elected because of their standing in their communities in spite of the party they were representing. Not always. Maybe not often. But in this particular case, who she is may be more relevant.

If most Canadians picked their MP by eenie meenie miney moe it would still mean that they were voting for the candidate rather than the party. Its the system.

That may be, but that's not the way elections are run - if it were, we would be voting for parties and leaders with not a candidate in sight. I wonder if MPs want to make the argument that their constituents don't give a damn about anything but the party they belong to - doesn't say much for them.

PM Carney, a son of the Northwest Territories, has four in his ministry who represent Arctic/near-Arctic constituents - Gull-Masty/Belanger/Chartrand/Alty. Carneys first domestic stop as PM was Iqaluit. How could Idlout not notice? #cdnpoli

You harbour the illusion that people vote for a party rather than a candidate 100% of the time. I would think a long standing politician would know better, but it would seem not.
Good to know that the NDP could run anyone in your riding and win - that the candidate matters not one bit.

Don't get me wrong - I want a strong federal NDP - I just don't think it will happen with the current crop of leadership candidates. Their last leader was a disaster - again, I liked him personally - but Jagmeet was a terrible leader. Rebuilding the party will be a monumental task.

I'm so old school. I have my android for work, but my socials are all only accessible on my laptop. My personal phone that I carry with me is still my old flip phone circa 2007. I'm back in the habit of carrying a book with me whenever I go out. I'm calmer now that I'm not obsessively scrolling.

Coffee drinking is just another way for teens to pretend they are all growed up.
Nobody takes a drag off a cig and decides that's smoking for them. They do it cuz they think it makes them look cool and older.

The great Irish patriot Terence MacSwiney once said "It is not those who can inflict the most, but those who can suffer the most who will prevail".
Americans often underestimate the patriotism of non-Americans and their willingness to endure suffering in defense of their country.
