At a women in STEM event today, someone bemoaned the lack of women doing computer science. At tea, a young women who had left the AI/tech world told me this: β€œit’s just full of men lying about how good they are & constantly competing”. Just maybe the problem is with tech culture & not the women… πŸ€”

Grammarly will keep using authors’ identities without permission unless they opt out expertoptout@superhuman.com.

What, and I mean this most sincerely, The Absolute Fuck?
By default, Grammarly’s new β€œExpert Review” feature uses users'/writers' names to give its AI suggestions credibility. And it's opt-OUT not opt-IN. And they didn't tell anyone they'd started doing it.

Dogs have owners who can "let" them do things. Cats have staff at their beck and call.

This is amazing.

When the government kills a crucial report, independent scientists decide to write it anyway and release it outside of government channels.

That’s science serving society, even when our political leaders don’t.

Eat Like a Medieval Saint With Her Recipe for 'Cookies of Joy' St. Hildegard was a mystic, healer, and passionate proponent of spelt and nutmeg.

There's a LOT of nutmeg in those cookies, just sayin'.

(Hildegard was pretty amazing, though.)

In our case, cat 1, aged about 16, was the elder statesman who mentored the two youngsters (6 years old). The two younger ones deferred to him.
But cat 1's deceased original housemate thought she was empress of the universe.

If you have two cats, one of them will be the best cat ever just chill and causes no problems and the other one will be an entire menace to society every waking moment.

It's a total crapshoot if you get a third.

Scones cooling on a wire rwck

Scones cooling on a wire rwck

I just pulled these scones out of the oven.
They will be a tasty part of my lunch.
Most of them got an very good rise...I believe that is due to putting them in the freezer for 30 minutes before baking.
The lumpy ones were made with scraps of the dough after cutting the rounds.
