My freebie cowbell was out today in full force #NoKings
Good GRE scores (and a little pity) offset a rather terrible undergraduate transcript (youthful mistakes) in admissions to an MA program, leading to a PhD. Night and day between my undergrad and grad experiences & outcomes - maturity from few years in the workforce made a big difference.
Three year commitment!
Beginning of Day 2 of #SIOP Program Build for the 2025 conference. So much work goes into making it happen. We (Program Trio) toiled away for 9.5 hours yesterday in a small conference room, phew!
I gave my niece a Squishmallow for her 1st Christmas, and she loved how ultra soft and plush it was - she'd constantly bury her face in the toy. By February, I had to restitch it because of all that manhandling.

Classic Ever Given stuck in the Suez meme. The big boat is the "Structural problem", and the small crane trying to move is "Making different personal choices."
I agree it's misleading. For anyone who's ever experienced burnout or seen it in others, it's never just a single case. Where there's one, there are many more.

Just last-minute hammered out my SIOP reviews on a 3 hour train ride! Somehow, trains end up my de facto place to do submission reviews. π
We used to have a weekly D&D night at my old job, always looked forward to it. Questionable RP choices were made with ridiculous results, good times were had. Ain't the same WFH.
Past 2 trips had aisle person ask for the window to be open for entire flight, both times in first class. Yesterday, guy reached OVER me to open it - I called flight attendant over & verified my right to control window. Always window seat for decades, never an issue. This a thing now? Yikes.
I don't know who needs to know this, but Pro Publica has an online thing that will format a letter to your US health insurance company to demand the records behind a claim denial. (which the insurance is then legally required to provide in most cases)

Schools are having delayed openings tomorrow due to the rain. I only ever recall snow/ice delaying school as a child. Climate change is wild.
