Took an extensive nap this afternoon and woke up to the prospect of having to share digital space with one of my biggest internet bullies. I just couldn’t bring myself to put myself through that again.
I napped from 5-9 after the daunting task of being around random strangers and my coworkers at a students grad party all afternoon. Now it’s 11:00 and I’m wide awake with nothing to do 😆

There were two “mall’s” at north. One on the east end was torn out when the new Price Chopper was built, this one on the west side was torn out in 2019.

This enlarged CVS in Springfield, MO operated here until 2019, closing on April Fools Day.
Originally opened in 1961 as a Katz City, the largest in the Kansas City based Katz drugstore chain.
It had runs as Skagg's Thrifty City and Osco Drug, before CVS took over in 2007.
It’s always wild to me seeing these old AE stores that existed before they went national.

The center court of Lincoln Mall during its final days of operation in January 2015. There are still a few businesses open in the background. On either side of the atrium are escalators, with an elevator tower seen left of frame. There are Christmas decorations still displayed and mid-removal.

There is debris and a layer of fire extinguisher dust strewn across the floor. Dead, potted trees from throughout the mall are lined up in the center.

There is now considerably more fire extinguisher dust, debris and wreckage strewn about the floor. Receipt paper and a rake has been tossed into the remaining dead trees and Christmas lights hanging from the ceiling. There is graffiti sprayed on the walls, escalators and storefronts.

The center court at Metcalf South Shopping Center featured a three-story fountain that was salvaged by Lane4 Property Group for a future development. It was revived for a Christmas party not long after the mall came down and hasn’t been seen since.
