Phygeo delegation at the 6th workshop of our @selinaproject.bsky.social, hosted by the university of #Trento, Italy, under the theme "Evidence-based decision making in the public sector".

From September 22 to October 2, our department hosted this year’s Summer School together with Yamagata University. Prof. Lopez and ten students from Japan explored Hannover, joined a workshop on Environmental Justice, and visited the Harz region, including Goslar and the Border Museum in Sorge.

In early September Physical Geography students joined a field excursion on “Green-Blue Landscapes of Central Germany,” exploring Leipzig’s urban development, floodplain forest, lignite mining, and urban greening, concluding with a visit to the Bastei in Saxon Switzerland. Researchers, practitioners and other experts came together during the 2nd German #CommunityofPractice meeting to discuss the implementation of #EcosystemServices, #NaturalCapital and #biodiversity research into decision making

The Landscape System Analysis project in Northern Finnland took students from Hannover, Joensuu and Tartu to boreal and subarctic regions. There they collected data with UAVs, TLS, GNSS and vegetation surveys. The results will be analyzed during this winter semester.

As part of the Bachelor’s programme in Physical Geography, the second semester students explored glacial and anthropogenic landscapes around Hanover and Schleswig-Holstein!
