I was wondering if there was an ‘uncanny’ factor (apt for your research) and you’ve expressed it perfectly
I love this. Do you have any theories for why we’re drawn to such cases? Failed ambition, resonance of past industry/community, nosiness?
Derelict pub interior with graffiti
This sounds like an adventure! I went to look at a derelict pub off the A505 this time last year (b/c it was rumoured to be pulled down) and the experience was surreal.
Image from the film 50 Days of Summer of the male and female characters looking at each other in a record store, repeated vertically. in the upper image, the male character says 'I love MK' and the female character says 'Me too'. In the lower image, the man has a series of Mariokart images on him, the woman has images of Milton Keynes: the concrete cows, a roundabout and the OU headquarters at Walton Hall.
Are you an Open University PGR with an idea for a meme on your research, the doctoral journey or Milton Keynes life?

My modest contribution to #BakeYourResearch. A Nietzsche Eternal Recurrence cake in the shape of an hourglass with jelly babies in the sprinkle sand. And I’d do it again.

How better to spend an hour than explaining Nietzsche’s challenging views with a moustache cake as a prop? Brilliant to celebrate Open University research with the Postgraduate Researcher community at #BakeYourResearch.
