Television Electronics Eighth Edition by Milton Kiver and Milton Kaufman. bought on Thriftbooks for about AU$9. it's about 960 pages long and covers just about everything needed to know how an 80s (or earlier) TV works, including a full fold-out schematic for a 70s colour TV!

my desk with 2015 5K Retina 27" iMac (still perfectly usable for the games I play), 21" 90s VGA monitor, 17" 00s VGA monitor, 90s keyboard and mouse, modern Apple keyboard and modern mouse.

my consoles and two more TVs in a wooden cabinet - 19" 90s colour TV, 21" 00s colour TV, NES, SFC, and various games and controllers.

it's been a while since I was last active on bluesky. here's an update to my CRT collection!

arcing doesn’t necessarily mean the flyback transformer is bad.
several of my CRT monitors have had high voltage arcing, and all they needed was a good dusting out and to have the area under the anode cap wiped clean (after discharging the tube, of course)

way too many CRTs. there’s 10 of them in this photo: 4” black and white tube, 5” black and white TV, 5” colour TV, 9” monochrome amber tube, five 17” PC CRT monitors, and a 21” colour TV my other CRTs that aren’t included in any of these photos: three more 17” PC CRT monitors, two 15” PC CRT monitors, two 12” monochrome green monitors
