South Park VHS on my 21" 90s TV. photo taken before I got the shelves, hence the CRTs on the floor in the background
my TwoKinds sketch suggestion on the eMac - Adira and Maeve have a snowball fight
photo of my 21" 90s VGA monitor displaying a chameleon from a 4K OLED demonstration video. monitor resolution is set to 1600x1200 at 75Hz
Television Electronics Eighth Edition by Milton Kiver and Milton Kaufman. bought on Thriftbooks for about AU$9. it's about 960 pages long and covers just about everything needed to know how an 80s (or earlier) TV works, including a full fold-out schematic for a 70s colour TV!
photos of some CRTs and also a huge book on CRT TVs
photo of MDF shelves absolutely LOADED with CRTs, plus another two CRTs not on the shelves. top shelf: 80s 9" amber industrial monitor with severe burn-in, bare 80s 9" greyscale picture tube from a classic all-in-one Macintosh, 80s 5" colour TV, 60s 5" black and white TV, carry case and battery pack for the 60s TV. 2nd shelf: 80s 12" green monitor, 00s 4" greyscale aliexpress monitor, another 80s 12" green monitor, 70s 12" black and white TV, 80s 14" colour TV with warranty fold-out paper. 3rd shelf: three 17" 90s/00s 17" VGA monitors, eMac (17" VGA screen) 4th shelf: four 17" 90s/00s 17" VGA monitors. not on the shelves: 90s 21" colour TV, 90s 14" colour TV (disassembled). extra stuff on the very top of the shelves: two boxed Famicoms, box for the typewriter Lego set, boxed CRT monitor shelf, boxed GTX 560 graphics card.
my desk with 2015 5K Retina 27" iMac (still perfectly usable for the games I play), 21" 90s VGA monitor, 17" 00s VGA monitor, 90s keyboard and mouse, modern Apple keyboard and modern mouse.
my consoles and two more TVs in a wooden cabinet - 19" 90s colour TV, 21" 00s colour TV, NES, SFC, and various games and controllers.
it's been a while since I was last active on bluesky. here's an update to my CRT collection!
total CRTs owned: 27
current collection: 23 (gave 4 away to friends)
total money spent on CRTs: AU$795
average: AU$29.44
notable acquisitions: 21" PC monitor with less than 1K hours of wear and an eMac :3

Iβm a big fan of retro electronics so I simply MUST share this! Mr. Froaks and mr. DelphiX showed me how my artwork looks on CRT screens β€οΈβπ₯

arcing doesnβt necessarily mean the flyback transformer is bad.
several of my CRT monitors have had high voltage arcing, and all they needed was a good dusting out and to have the area under the anode cap wiped clean (after discharging the tube, of course)
way too many CRTs. thereβs 10 of them in this photo: 4β black and white tube, 5β black and white TV, 5β colour TV, 9β monochrome amber tube, five 17β PC CRT monitors, and a 21β colour TV my other CRTs that arenβt included in any of these photos: three more 17β PC CRT monitors, two 15β PC CRT monitors, two 12β monochrome green monitors
the four smallest CRTs and the two PC CRT monitors on my desk
more CRTs. the 21β colour TV and two of the 17β PC CRT monitors from the first pic, plus another 21β colour TV, a 19β colour TV, and a 14β colour TV

(I also have a few more that arenβt in these photos)
