Don’t worry. The perks are only temporary. Soon they’ll start keeping breeder “females” in cages so they won’t have to bother bribing them for sex anymore.

Iran attacks show the perils of following America’s economic lead A growth plan of renewable energy and diversified trade is far better than guzzling fossil fuels and aligning with the US

International Energy Agency reduced its forecast for US renewables growth by nearly 50 % because of Trump removing tax incentives and blocking new wind projects, but increased forecast India by 10 %, citing increases in the capacity of onshore wind and solar generation.

We know a lot of people are choosing to boycott AI overall, and we support that. AI is terrible on the environment! At the same time, we understand many people still use AI tools. If you’re going use AI please delete the ChatGPT app, and switch to Claude by Anthropic instead.

if the media had any integrity — and it doesn’t anymore — they’d be pointing out on a loop that Obama made a deal with Iran, Trump cancelled it because Obama is Black, and then Trump started a war on the pretense there is no deal

Because men who evaluate women solely or primarily based on appearance assume that women are evaluating them the same way.

I digitally mirrored a photo of a fern for this image with two green eyes looking at us, and loved the pareidolia - seeing these eyes and blurred green creatures in the background. As if nature was a sentient being.

A fern #scape with fascinating #fractals, looking at us 👀🪴

A sentient being?

Have a good weekend! ☀️🌿💚

Submerged trees during late afternoon at Nottinghamshire's Attenborough Nature Reserve, a wetland next to the river Trent. It is a riparian wetland, an important ecosystem connecting river and land.

Submerged tree at a connecting point between the river Trent and one of the lakes of Nottinghamshire's Attenborough Nature Reserve. I love the natural, almost symmetrical reflection!

No, they would absolutely start caging women like livestock and systematically raping them “for the good of the country,” but they’re probably going to do that eventually anyway, so fuck it. Run while you can, where you can.

They are not at war, I fear, because most of them are quietly fine with how this is going. There’s no genuine opposition in power right now. They all work for the same corporations.

What Kansas is doing to trans people is very rapidly approaching the UN definition of genocide. It has criminalized an entire group of people purely for being out and trans.

We need a coordinated, sustained general strike and mass corporate boycotts. Money is what matters to them (that and obviously avoiding accountability in some cases).

Let’s play “Movies with better ratings than Melania.” I submit Troll 2 at 13%. It’s arguably the worst movie I’ve ever seen, but has achieved that sort of cult bad-movie status, where people watch it just to laugh at the catastrophically bad acting and production, so that may account for some of it.

More “abalone landscapes”. I’m forever fascinated by patterns in nature resembling other patterns in nature at different scales.

Abalone “landscapes”. My mom found this palm-sized bit of shell on a beach when I was a kid and gave it to me decades ago. I’ve been using it as a spoon rest for maybe 20 years. Never thought to look at it this closely before. So many worlds on such a small surface.

I think my favorite thing about lichens in general is how they all resemble different corals/sea creatures.
