Rights groups urge airlines to halt β€˜one in, one out’ deportation flights British and French activists write to Air France, AlbaStar, Titan and Corendon airlines over β€˜shameful involvement’

We've written to the four airlines carrying out deportations under the cruel and inhumane UK-France agreement.

They are: Air France, Titan Airways, AlbaStar Airlines & Corenden Airlines.

We call on them to end their complicity, now.

"One for one", "one in, one out" : rien d'autre qu'un échange abject. Cet épisode revient sur l'inventivité décidément sans limite des Etats, ici la France et le Royaume-Uni, pour tenter de dissuader l'immigration. Deux versions pour cet épisode, mix anglais-français ou avec doublages.

This adds difficulty and danger to people’s journeys as well as disrupting people’s access to asylum services in France. Read the full report - www.humansforrights.org/state-violence

As a result, transport networks within Calais and Dunkirk, and France more generally, have become the sites of higher levels of violent policing in recent years, during which people are racially profiled and targeted, believed to be trying to cross the Channel.

Section 3 shows how transport networks have become a key site of state violence against people on the move in recent years.Β French and UK governments have increased securitisation of the border, they endeavour to disrupt people’s journeys earlier and earlier in the timeline of a crossing attempt.

Last week, I hosted an event in Parliament about violence at the UK-France border. @asylummatters.bsky.social, Humans for Rights Network, Project Play and others shared reports of horrifying state neglect and violence, including towards children.

We took the French government to court - and WE WON. But the work isn’t over.

The court ruled that living conditions in Dunkirk camps are illegal and inhumane, ordering urgent action. But basic healthcare is still missing. We have appealed to push for its inclusion.

The political aim of these violent actions is to stop people reaching the UK: as such, they constitute an outsourcing and externalisation of UK border policy and act in the anti-migrant interests of the UK government.

Much of which is paid for by the British government through bilateral agreements with France. We hope our report provides essential information on the situation and that this conversation gives rise to real action to prevent further fatal and non fatal harm at the border.

State violence is a daily occurrence characterised by incessant use of tear gas, violent police actions on beaches including slashing of boats, widespread evictions, racism and hostility perpetrated by French police.

A range of NGOs from France and the UK came together to discuss the acutely violence situation faced by people seeking safety stuck at the UK France border.

Yesterday we were in Parliament to launch our new collaborative report, β€œYou can’t stay but you can’t go” - state violence at the UK France border” at an event hosted by @nadiawhittomemp.bsky.social

The level of taxpayer-funded violence at the UK-France border revealed in this report is sickening.

We support @humansforrights.bsky.social calls for an independent public inquiry into the UK government’s role in the increase in violence and deaths at the border in recent years.

@utopia56.bsky.social 56 received reports of police violence linked to boat crossings affecting an average of 7 people per day in 2025. An end to violent police operations performed by the French police in northern France, and a halt to the UK funding which enables them.

When people attempt to cross on small boats, police use tear gas indiscriminately, including against babies as young as 2 months old. Boats are routinely slashed by police both on the beach and in the water, putting people at risk.

Samir, who was in Calais in September 2025 told us - β€œWhen you are here waiting to get to the UK, you will suffer. You don’t know if they want you to stay here or go out of the country.”

Since 2018, the UK govt has pledged at least 763.4 million euros to the French government to β€˜secure’ the border. The UK government funds this violence and instigates violent policies through bilateral agreements with France as part of their increasingly hostile border policies.

08.12.2025 09:44 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

The report shows how UK government policy and millions of pounds of UK taxpayer money are responsible for the rise in border violence, leading to serious injury and death.
