I was lucky enough to do this in Jan 2024 and it was one of the highlights of my career. It's such an amazing scheme. Best of luck with the final stages of writing.
I am so excited about this upcoming 1-day hybrid conference. I can't wait to share findings from the project & hear the amazing papers we have lined up.
Most importantly, it's free! In person attendees get cakes, lunch & a drinks reception. Travel bursaries are available for PhDs/ECRs. Join us!
What do Agatha Christie, Dorothy L. Sayers, and the 19th-century Divorce Court have in common? Murder, of course.
I chatted with @cacrampton.bsky.social on the Shedunnit podcast about how divorce law shaped golden age detective fiction π

β¨Inside the medieval roof timbers at Beverley Minster, Yorkshire, one of the rafters has been dated (c. 921) and was a sapling during the reign of King Γthelstan, before England was an entity.
Touch it and you feel a kind of altitude and sense that the past is cheek by jowl.
Well deserved congratulations! π π x
The con that got us all into academia...
An unconscious ginger maine coon boy cat called Tigger. He's sleeping on a pink fleecy blanket placed on the arm of a sofa precisely because he and his sister insist on sleeping on the arm of said sofa. He has very hairy toes.
If reincarnation is true then I hope to have lived a good enough life to come back as a Maine Coon cat π»
