Is that a Confederate flag flying? I hope somebody beat the snot out of them.

Respectfully disagree. Alberta has a very vocal but small minority of ridiculous clowns. They happen to be in charge. Things are not so different in Ontario (or Nova Scotia or Quebec). At root, the people overall are still good people.

We like each other. In times like this, this matters!

This is more important than people realize. Canadians have the highest estimation of their fellow citizens than any other country surveyed. πŸ˜πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

There are roads there. Mosul, Iraq is only 1000k to Turkey, which is well out of the fray.

Carney's not wrong, though. There is a condition one could imagine where Canada does get involved. In fact, there are many, including sending peacekeepers to help stabilize the region. And if there is even one condition one could imagine, he would be disingenuous to rule it out.

I sure hope they are paying journalists

The NDP already lost the next election when they talked about scaling back Canadian defence. You are right, Canadians are scared right now. We have a violent psychopath next door bombing indiscriminately. Carney knows this, and yes NDP voters know this (49% support increased military).

It makes me nauseous how the American media only cares about dead Americans, not the people Americans are killing.

Just discovered that you can get almost all the same crap from Amazon over on AliExpress and then Trump doesn't get the support. Win!

The New York Times' Long History of Endorsing US-Backed Coups The New York Times Editorial Board, it seems, rarely meets a coup backed by the US government that it doesn’t approve of.

The New York Times has supported virtually every single US-backed coup attempt since WW2, as Alan MacLeod's investigation into the paper found. It is a propaganda arm of the American Empire.

You are most welcome here! Always welcome. And one day, hopefully sooner than later, things will change for the better and we can get on being family.

Another one of those spots in the US where Canada is to the north, east, south, and west.

Also, this land should never have been given by the Brits to the Americans. The decision led directly to Canada taking more independence from the Empire, which is good, but we were swindled. This land belongs in Canada. #BorderStories

Just a gentle reminder that Vancouver is in the Pacific Southwest, or the West Coast, not the Pacific Northwest. The Pacific Northwest are the Queen Charlotte Islands (Haida Gwaii), which is really the midwest.

He didn't offer support for strikes. He supported the dismantling of the Iranian regime. It might feel the same, but the wording was precise.

Some people love the New York Times, but they do a lot of work validating war crimes.

There is NEVER any advantage to appeasing Trump. @mark-carney.bsky.social please fight for a rules based international order, not applauding Americans bombing whomever they choose.

Deeply opposed to Trump's unilateral bombing. I wonder, though, if this might end up helping Ukraine? A lot of Russia's drones come from Iran, which will obviously get rerouted now.

It is funny to me that New Zealanders don't like being misidentified as Australian (as a Canadian, I get it), but then they design their flag to look almost exactly like Australia's.
