Oh wow, this is really great work. Recent results on PCGs allowed much more efficient MPC preprocessing (among other things) using somewhat new assumptions. Apparently, these assumptions are too strong.

Absolutely sure we won't. I'm just thinking that worldwide we'll see more investments into this, so globally the decline won't be as severe 5 years from now. It's sound economic policy to invest into this, if you have the human resources.

We pay less for drugs because of how our Healthcare systems are set up. Basically the people who determine pricing here are a little less corrupt.
Money and people will primarily shift elsewhere. Other countries want to have those results and monetize them to the same extent. If more talented Europeans stay in Europe, there's ultimately more money here to support that research.
