You can't extrapolate from this poll to other issues, particularly relating to annexing Gaza or the West Bank. Or exempting Haredi from national service. Or the attempts by Likud to cripple anti-corruption efforts.

The Israeli public is not aligned on many different issues with its government. The alignment on the IRI is because of the Israeli public's experience of the violence of that regime. The war in Iran is unpopular in the US because we don't experience that violence personally.

Many people, especially on the left, are unable to take the IRI's threat to Israel seriously. They all seem to have convinced themselves that the IRI and Hamas and Hezbollah don't really want to destroy Israel, the just want to "free Palestine." And that Israeli security concerns are just bigotry.

This is nonsensical. IRI has posed a huge threat to Israel for decades, up to and including training and arming Hamas for 10/7, as well as arming Hezbollah and the Houtis. IRI poses no such threat to the US. It's no surprise that Israeli and American attitudes towards the war diverge.
