I've been drawn to #shadows lately so I think there'll be more 'shadow work' in March.
I had to set aside my paint brush for weeks to take care of my terribly sick cat. And I've noticed how the lack of practice affected my skills lol. Back to square one.

Btw, this paper pills when I work with multiple layers. Baohong handles that way better. But for basic practice, Marie's will suffice.

I did this quick study on my usual #watercolor paper (another Chinese brand called "Marie's") to compare with Baohong. I kinda like them equally, but Baohong feels more premium. Must be the texture.

Yes it's 100% cotton! 😁 I think it's really good; the paper holds well and some say it's at par with Arches but I haven't tried that brand yet. I used the Baohong artist grade paper on this piece.
Oh yay, thanks! I originally wanted to keep them flat for a cutesy style, but since the other cat is white, I felt like adding shadows would look better.
