Unfortunately, No One Can Be Told What Neo Is 💊 One week, seven announcements. Apple brewed up a storm for the first week of Spring with a blitz of new hardware. Some genuinely impressive new products stood out amongst a few subtle spec bumps. We'll also dig into the optics around the biggest announcement, the MacBook Neo. But let's unpack everything in the order Apple unveiled each product and go through the important details.

Apple dropped seven major products in one week.

MacBook Neo, M5 MacBook Air, M5 Pro and Max MacBook Pro, iPhone 17e, iPad Air, and two new displays including Studio Display XDR.

If the older A17 Pro chip in the iPad mini can run modern games like Resident Evil Village at a locked 30fps, then everyday productivity and watching cat videos on the MacBook Neo with A18 Pro should be a piece of cake. Just saying….🙃

Wow! MacBook Neo arrives as Apple’s most affordable Mac at just £599/$599: a 13-inch Liquid Retina display, aluminium design in new colours, and the A18 Pro powering everyday tasks with all day battery. Apple’s aiming to bring the Mac experience to a much wider audience.

Lastly, Apple launches the new MacBook Air with M5 featuring faster CPU/GPU/AI boosts, double base storage (512GB), Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, 12MP Center Stage camera, up to 18-hour battery, Liquid Retina display and Spatial Audio. 13” from £1099, 15” from £1299. Pre-orders 4 March, ships 11 March.

Next #AppleLaunch : two new 27-inch displays: an upgraded Studio Display with Thunderbolt 5, 12MP Center Stage and improved speakers from £1499, plus the new Studio Display XDR with mini-LED, 2000 nits HDR and 120Hz from £2999. Pre-order 4 March. Ships 11 March.

Kicking off today's events, Apple unveiled the M5 Pro & M5 Max chips and the new MacBook Pro.

👉 18 core CPU architecture, including 6 "super core" and 12 "performance cores"
👉 40 core GPU with neural accelerators in each core
👉 30% faster CPU, 4x faster AI acceleration and 35% faster Ray Tracing

Finally, Apple refreshed its accessory range. New silicone cases are available in Vanilla, Electric Lavender and Bright Guava. Apple Watch bands are available now in Bright Guava, Clementine, Soft Pink, Blue Mist and Cantaloupe. The crossbody strap also gets Bright Guava and Soft Pink.

Apple also announced the #iPadAir with M4 chip offering a 30% boost in performance compared to M3. It also adds the N1 networking chip with WiFi 7 support. And in cellular models Apple is using its custom C1X modem for improved reception and power consumption. £599/$599 for 11" £799/$799 for 13".

First up #iPhone17e priced at £599/$599. It succeeds the 16e and features the A19 chip found in the iPhone 17, adds MagSafe support, Ceramic Shield 2 for enhanced durability, double the base storage, the C1X modem from iPhone Air, 2.25x faster wireless charging and a pink colour way.

All Eyes on March the 4th 🎉 Apple has announced an "Apple Experience" on March 4 in New York, London, and Shanghai, featuring live demos and announcements. Key updates include the return of a low-cost MacBook, MacBook Pro spec bumps, new iPads, and the iPhone 17e. Additionally, iOS 26.4 beta introduces various new features while Apple expands its sports broadcasting partnership, notably with IMAX for Formula 1 coverage.

A big month coming up for Apple, kicking off with its "not an event" on March the 4th 🤫

We've got a bunch of new features coming with iOS 26.4 and there's some genuinely cool stuff coming with Apple's new partnership with IMAX.

Other possible updates could include a new Studio Display, perhaps with mini LED technology and 120hz support. And we'll likely see the usual spring refresh of Apple's accessory range. Bringing in some brighter, fresher colours 🌈

What are you hoping to see?

The star of the show will be the return of the MacBook. It was abandoned a few years ago, with the line split between MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.

A new low cost model, in bright, fun colours is highly expected. And it may have an iPhone chip inside it to help keep costs down.

M5 Pro/Max MacBook Pro updates seem like a dead cert. The base M5 is already in the 14" model. The high end pro chips are due anytime now.

We may also see the M5 Ultra chip announced with an updated Mac Studio. Some rumours hinted at an M5 Ultra MacBook. I think that's unlikely.

We're due a refresh of the iPhone 16e which came out a year ago. It should get the A19 chip from the iPhone 17, MagSafe support and more recent versions of Apple's custom modems and networking chips. Probably still 60hz but with the price point preserved at £599/$599.

New base iPads and an iPad Air refresh feel almost certain.
The base iPad is expected to get the A18 chip. It means all current Mac/iPhone/iPads will support Apple Intelligence and (eventually) the new Siri.

The iPad Air will get the M4 but that's it. Spec bump and still 60hz.
