We know that there are two different realities in America–one for working people, and another for the rich, connected, and well-protected.
But we're going to change that by finally holding people in power accountable.

Congress just struck down a War Powers Resolution to rein in Trump's illegal regime change war.
I voted yes. Every single Member should've joined us to say clearly: No more endless wars.
No more civilians murdered abroad with our tax dollars.
No more US troops sent to their death for Trump.
It's about time.
But Trump's violent, cruel deportation agenda didn't begin with Kristi Noem & it won't end with her firing.
We need to abolish ICE, dismantle DHS, & prosecute everyone responsible for violating our rights, bypassing due process, & killing people in our streets.
When we have honest data, we can fight for policies that truly support workers, including Black women & communities disproportionately impacted by rising unemployment.
Proud to join @pressley.house.gov in introducing this necessary step toward an economy where everyone is seen, counted, & valued.
Gold and white text over a photo of Rep. Lee with local union leaders reads "Introducing the Better Labor Statistics Act to modernize the law as it relates to the Bureau of Labor Statistics."
Gold and white text on a black background reads "Here's the problem: The Trump administration is attacking the Bureau of Labor Statistics. He has fired its commissioner and is ignoring or blatantly lying about the unemployment rate. Marginalized people, especially Black women, have been disproportionately impacted by mass federal firings and a rising d rate. Refusing to acknowledge the facts makes it difficult to propose real solutions that address disparities in unemployment." Below is a photo of Trump over graphs.
Gold and white font on a black background reads "The Better Labor Statistics Act is our solution. The Better Labor Statistics Act would modernize the law when it comes to The Bureau of Labor Statistics by making references to the Secretary of Labor gender neutral, requiring the Department of Labor to publish unemployment data by the first Friday of each month, and require data disaggregation by geography, race, ethnicity, and gender so we can better examine and understand patterns in labor and unemployment." Below is a photo of the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
White text on a black background shows a quote from Rep. Lee that reads "This is about transparency, accountability, and making sure our economic data actually reflects all of us, especially workers and communities too often left out of the picture."
At a time when the Trump administration is attempting to scale back how much, how often, and how accurately labor data is reported, we must ensure our labor statistics laws keep pace with the realities working people face every day.
So we have enough money for
➡️war with Iran
➡️buying Greenland
➡️Kash Patel jetsetting around the world
But we can't afford
❌healthcare
❌housing
❌public education
Do I have that right?
🚨BREAKING: I'm in the Oversight Committee where we just passed a motion to subpoena Pam Bondi.
I'm looking forward to talking to her face to face about the articles of impeachment I'm filing and making her answer for every time she's lied, broken the law, & obstructed justice.
Republicans turned a legitimate investigation into a circus, and now the Trump admin is using sham investigations to justify their violent immigration enforcement agenda that has killed American citizens and immigrants alike.
We have to stand up against this authoritarian power grab.
My constituent and friend, Monica, was supposed to join me for the State of the Union, but her daughter went into labor after her son-in-law was detained by ICE.
Her family's story is familiar to so many families that have been torn apart by ICE.
Chag Purim Sameach to everyone celebrating in Western PA and across the country!
Wishing our Jewish neighbors a holiday filled with joy and community.
Grateful to Fulton Elementary for inviting me to their Black History Month Assembly. The students I met give me hope for a future where we can tell the truth about our history and celebrate our diversity. (2/2)
Rep. Lee poses for a photo with staff and the Fulton mascot.
Rep. Lee speaks to a cafeteria full of children.
A student asks Rep. Lee a question into a microphone.
Kids in the cafeteria wave Black History Month terrible towels.
As Trump and his administration dismantle the Department of Education, attack our schools, and erase our stories, it's more important than ever that we take time to recognize that Black history is American history. (1/2)
Dozens of children at an elementary school. Four American troops. That's the real cost of this dangerous & illegal conflict.
It's the people who are hurt most by war. We pay the price while the war machine profits.
My heart is with everyone who lost a loved one in Trump's regime change crusade.
From day one Trump has shown us his corruption and desire for regime change in multiple countries that he has no business being in.
This is an insanely unpopular, dangerous, and illegal act of war. Congress must pass a War Powers Resolution immediately and hold this lawless president accountable.
Trump’s words make it clear he doesn’t care about the safety of Americans and his actions make clear he doesn't care about the safety of the Iranian people.
If he did, he wouldn’t be risking the lives of American troops for the sake of another endless war or trying to turn Iran into a war zone.
I'm proud to join @repbonamici.bsky.social in introducing this legislation to take an important step toward rebuilding the safeguards that were stripped away and ensuring the CFPB can fully deliver on its mission.
Rep. Lee speaks to a classroom of students. Below in white and gold text reads "Introducing the students and young consumers empowerment act to protect student loan borrowers and other young consumers"
White and gold text on a black background reads "Here's the problem: The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) provides student borrowers with the information and protection they deserve to determine how taking on loans can impact them financially. The Trump administration is slashing the CFPB and the Office for Students and Young Consumers, harming millions. Before it closed, the office returned more than $750 million to students and borrowers and helped more than 60,000 people who submitted complaints."
White and gold text on a black background reads "We introduced the students and young consumers empowerment act. It will reopen the Office for Students and Young Consumers and strengthen the CFPB’s ability to build on its commitment to protecting student loan borrowers and other young consumers. It’ll also enable the CFPB to protect borrowers, prevent fraudulent and misleading actions by unscrupulous organizations seeking to exploit students, and preserve access to affordable higher education." Below is a photo of Rep. Lee speaking to students.
White text on a black background shows a quote from Rep. Lee that reads "As millions of borrowers continue to shoulder the burden of student debt, we need stronger oversight, better protections, and clear pathways to relief. "
For too long, students & young consumers have been left to navigate a financial system that often puts profit ahead of people. Restoring the Office for Students & Young Consumers will make sure young borrowers have a real advocate in their corner that will hold predatory lenders accountable. (1/2)
I'm grateful to our municipal officials for sharing their experience and their concerns, and I'm looking forward to bringing these voices and ideas back to the work I do in Congress. (2/2)
Rep. Lee has a meeting with municipal leaders at a table.
Rep. Lee and Plum Boro leaders pose for a photo.
Rep. Lee and North Versailles municipal officials pose for a photo.
From Plum to North Versailles, I spent time last week meeting with local officials to discuss what they're seeing in their communities and how I can be a partner at the federal level. (1/2)
This is a step in the right direction, but we need a full investigation into everyone connected to Epstein, and we need the full, unredacted files to understand who knew what.
It's time that every person involved, regardless of party, title, or status, is held to account.
Pittsburgh's own Freedom House Ambulance Service revolutionized the way we do medicine and emergency services.
I'm proud to introduce the Freedom House Ambulance Service Congressional Gold Medal Act to give the folks who paved the way for modern EMS the long-overdue recognition they deserve.
In case you missed it, I'll be introducing articles of impeachment against Pam Bondi.
She's obstructing justice, weaponizing the DOJ against Trump's political enemies, and breaking the law. It's time she's held accountable.
The DOJ's refusal to comply with our subpoena and the law has gone on for too long.
I'll be introducing articles of impeachment against Pam Bondi.
It's time to stop allowing institutions and our own government to continue protecting the wealthy and powerful.
Gold and white text reads "Introducing the Head Start for America's Children Act to expand Head Start to 11 million children." Above is a photo of Rep. Lee in a classroom with childcare providers.
Gold and white text on a black background reads "Head start transforms lives. For 60 years, local Head Start programs have provided high-quality early education and comprehensive services for more than 40 million children and working families. Today, nearly 800,000 children receive early education, health and dental care, and healthy meals through Head Start, while their families access referrals for job training, adult education, nutrition services and housing support. Research shows that the first five years of a child’s life are critical for social, emotional, and cognitive development. Head Start children are better prepared for kindergarten, have better health outcomes and are more likely to graduate from high school and attend college. Yet in America today, families in most states pay more for child care than rent, mortgage payments or in-state college tuition. High-quality early learning opportunities remain out of reach for millions, with 5.3 million children under the age of 6 — nearly 17% of children in America — living in poverty in 2023."
Gold and white text on a black background reads "More families deserve access to Head Start. Our bill, the Head Start for America’s Children Act, would fully fund Head Start to serve 11 million children, simplify enrollment, and dramatically expand access to high-quality early childhood education and comprehensive services for working families across the country. It would also raise wages for Head Start educators and strengthen support services for families so that every educator, family, and child has the resources they need." Below is a photo of Rep. Lee hugging a child.
White text on a black background displays a quote from Rep. Lee that reads "Working parents deserve to know their kids are safe, supported, and receiving high quality early education while they pursue opportunity. I am proud of the work we’re doing to invest in early educators and strengthen our communities by building a more just future for our children."
Head Start has transformed the lives of generations of children and families.
Proud to join Rep. Tlaib in expanding it through the Head Start for America’s Children Act to honor the dignity and potential of every child, no matter their zip code.
Good. Next let's do this here in the U.S.

Instead of listening to more of his lies at the State of the Union, I'm joining my colleagues and our movement partners for the People's State of the Union. (2/2)
A poster for MoveOn's People's State of the Union featuring Rep. Summer Lee and the names of other Members of Congress who will be speaking.
We will not sit by and allow Trump and his administration to continue using fear to divide us and distract from the fact that they're stealing from working people to line their own pockets. (1/2)
It was great to connect with our local officials, discuss how I can be a partner to them at the federal level, and celebrate the work of our municipal governments. Thank you to the Turtle Creek Valley Council of Governments for having me!
Rep. Lee speaks at a dinner with an audience seated at tables.
Local government is where the change we feel every day takes place. Last night, we brought together local governments from so many municipalities to recognize their important work at the Turtle Creek Valley Council of Governments annual dinner.
It’s past time to ensure that the legacy of the Freedom House is finally recognized at the highest level of government. It’s a long overdue recognition of Freedom House’s service, brilliance, & humanity. It’s an acknowledgment that history does not belong to those with power, but with the people.
