You need to report this to Police. I know it sucks, takes time and drags out a frustrating experience, but that is where the statistics are recorded which actually result in action being taken. As a crash that resulted in injury (even minor), you're legally required to report it.

I'm not sure you understand how economic evaluations work.
Economists have tried to put a dollar value on the experience you describe, quantified from improved reliability, safety, and faster journeys.
The number they arrived at is much lower than what we're paying to achieve it.

It's probable that the U.S. economy won't survive the simultaneous stalling of government expenditure, loss of intellectual talent and participation, and inflationary trade policy.
I'd say WW3 is less likely than widespread poverty and civil unrest.

If Canada can get this finished, it will be a significant point of difference between the two countries.
One will be living in the future, the other stuck in the past, and it will be plain for all to see.

America, It's Just Like Riding a Bike
YouTube video by The War on Cars
What would a TV ad promoting alternatives to driving look like? What if people who love cycling and progressive transportation reclaimed ideas like freedom, independence and even patriotism? We decided to give it a shot. Check out our new video, "America, It's Just Like Riding a Bike."

Sadly, Capitalism requires scarcity, tends towards monopolisation, will externalise whenever possible and will always use strength of wealth to capture regulation.
For these reasons, there is no happy middle without revolution.

Cities that only deliver "the basics" are failed cities.
The whole purpose of bringing all those people together is to do better than "basic".

The irony is that the TTM guidance will say that an advisory sign is needed in advance of a lane closure.
This does also apply to the cycle lane, however.
The difference is that people care if you block a live traffic lane.

Your regular reminder that New Zealand already has the ability to rapidly and massively reduce climate-damaging pollution, and that if we did so, it would be a huge boost for the economy.
Politicians are choosing not to do so because their supporters would lose money, not because it can't be done.

It's very important to remember this when damage occurs.
Right now, there's a very popular disinformation narrative that wants to blame the people who allowed or built homes in places that have been desirable for centuries, if not longer.
Because the climate changed, these places are now unsafe.

When homes in floodplains or places where forest fires occur face catastrophic damage unlike anything seen since that settlement was established, something exceptional has pushed the boundaries of what was once "safe" into "unsafe".
The location of the houses was fine, until we broke the climate...

And for millenia, that was fine. Alongside the development of cities, we developed flood controls, irrigation, and construction methods that minimised the risk of natural disasters.
Natural boundaries + human ingenuity = prosperity.
What's changed?
The climate has!...
